Jasmine didn’t answer further. Instead, she scooped up a spoonful of noodles and ate them hurriedly, not caring how hot they were. Wiping her lips, she placed the bowl in the sink and then made her way to the shopping bag, heading toward her room to change. Her steps were cold and hurried.

"I think Miss Jasmine is holding back her anger," Paul remarked to Damon as soon as Jasmine disappeared into the room.

Damon’s expression hardened. "Keep an eye on her. If she tries to escape with her daughter, make sure she understands there’s nowhere she can hide from me. And if she seeks help from Harley, well, I don’t know what I’ll do," he said with a possessive tone.

Paul hesitated, then asked, "If it’s not inappropriate, may I know why you’re so obsessed with her?"

Damon’s eyes flashed with irritation. "What? No! I’m not obsessed with her. I just don’t like rebellion. She needs to understand the importance of this project and her role in it."

Paul nodded slowly, sensing there was mo
