As Damon closed the door on Ian’s leave, Jasmine questioned, "If she is not Dante's mother, nor is she married to you, how does she hold such strong power in the business?"

"You’re taking an interest in my life—something I really like," Damon said with a sly smile.

"I am not. I’m just curious how I can snatch some of your property and business from you like she did," Jasmine spat, rolling her eyes as she crossed her legs.

"Haha! You’re so straightforward about money, I like it," Damon replied, staring at her red nose and then her lips. She had such sweet, exquisite features that people couldn't help but feel protective toward her.

Jasmine huffed, clearly unimpressed by his charm. "Stop deflecting. Answer the question."

"My grandfather adopted her when she was just 10 years old from an orphanage. He decided that Cindy should be his granddaughter and arranged my marriage with her," Damon explained.

"What? Shouldn't she be your sister then?" Jasmine spat, her face contorting with
