Chapter 3

Alton's POV

I saw anger in Solana's eyes and after a while, a hard slap landed on my face.

The side of my lips rose for a smirk. I massaged my left cheek where her slap landed. I looked at Solana intently.

"I don't have time to deal with your shits Alton," she said firmly in a tone filled with anger.

"Why are you so against the idea of fucking me when we are not even related by blood?" I asked while looking directly into her eyes.

"All my life all I want is to be loved by my mother and I will do everything to please her even if I have to force myself in the family they created so fuck someone else Alton because whether you like it or not, from now on I will see you as my brother nothing more," I saw tears on the corner of her eyes. I can feel pain in her voice and for a second I want to comfort her but I stopped myself from doing so.

Solana looked at me intently and after a while, she walked away leaving me in her tent.

I let out a deep breath and decided to leave.

Guilt crept into my system when I saw that she is about to cry but her tears weren't enough to stop me from ruining the family that my father created.

I went back to our mansion and the first thing I saw was Alicia removing our family portrait.

"Who gave you permission to remove that?" I asked as I walked towards her.

Alicia signalled the maid to put the portrait down then she faced me.

"You're father gave me permission Alton do we have any problem with that?" she asked with a forced smile plastered on her face.

A sarcastic smile appeared on my lips.

"You can't replace my mother Alicia. You can try all you want but you will always be my father's mistress," after saying those words a hard slap landed on my face.

Like my mother, like daughter, I thought to myself.

Alicia breathed heavily with her eyes filled with anger.

After a while, my father stepped inside the living room, confused. His eyes landed on me and then on Alicia.

"What's happening here?" he asked.

Alicia faced my father with a fake smile plastered on her lips.

"Nothing hon. Alton is just asking me why I am removing your family portrait," she sweetly responded.

My father looked at me.

"There's no point in keeping that old family portrait Alton because that family no longer exists," he said.

I looked at my father and I never thought that the man that I used to look up to when I was a child became a stranger that I loathe.

"Because you ruined it, Dad. You and your mistress ruined our family," after saying those words I fell on the floor holding my face.

I tasted blood in my mouth. A sarcastic smile appeared on my lips then stood up and faced my father who is now fuming mad while looking at me.

"If you can't respect my decision then leave Alton. Leave just like what your mother did," he said with his voice filled with anger.

"And what? Let you live in a fairytale?" I sarcastically asked.

I looked at my father intently with a clenched fist.

"I won't let your new family steal my place in this mansion. I am still your son Dad and I have every right to stay here." I uttered while looking directly into his eyes.

When I can no longer bear looking at his face I headed towards my room and upon stepping inside I threw things on the wall.

I heard knocks from the outside and Martha's voice asking me what is happening but I ignored her.

After a while, I let out a deep breath and sat at the edge of my bed.

I am panting while looking at my bloody fist.

After a while, I reached for my phone and dialled, Sebastian's number.

"What's up man?" he asked. I can hear gunshots on the other line meaning he is currently at work.

"Do you have time?" I asked.

"Why? Something happened?" he asked. Sebastian knows about my family issue. He knows how fucked up my life is so whenever I am calling him he already knows that there is something wrong.

"Dad and I fought," I responded.

"I'm at the shooting ground, come here if you want to release some steam," he offered.

I let out a deep breath and then grabbed my keys.

I stepped out of my room but the moment I walked into the hallway I bumped into Solana.

I'm not in the mood to play with her so I passed by her but before I could fully leave she spoke.

"Your hand it's bleeding...are you okay?" she asked with her voice laced with concern.

I stopped walking and then faced her.

Solana is looking at my hand then after a while, her gaze shifted to my face.

"You should clean your wounds," she suggested. I looked at her face intently. She looks deeply concerned.

"I'm fine," I was about to walk away when she took a step closer and held my wrist.

"Let me clean your wound. It won't take long I promised," she said then after that she climbed down the stairs and after a few minutes she came back holding a first aid kit.

Solana held my wrist again then pulled me towards her room and made me sit on the edge of her bed.

She sat beside me and then carefully placed my wounded hand on her lap.

"What happened?" she asked while gently pressing cotton with alcohol on the wound.

"Ouch," I flinched when she pressed it a little harder.

"Sorry," she apologized then blew some air to ease the sting.

I looked at Solana and as I looked at her face intently I felt my heart start beating erratically.

"Does it hurt?" she asked then lift her head and looked me directly in the eyes.

I swallowed hard at how close our faces are. I felt my body freeze in place and when I can no longer bear looking at her face, I look away and pulled my hand from her hold.

I moved a little to create a space between us.

"I have to go," I said then stood up and walked out of her door but the moment I stepped out I saw Solana's mother standing in front of Solana's room.

"Why are you here?" she asked in a malicious tone.

My lips rose for a smirk then looked at her intently.

"Two people, alone in a room, what do you think could happen, Alicia?" I asked while looking at her intently.

Alicia looked at me fiery. I saw how she let out a deep breath as if she is trying to calm herself.

"I'm warning you, Alton, don't you ever use my daughter for whatever you are planning," she threatened but I simply smiled at her.

"I am not planning anything, Alicia. I just can't resist your daughter's charm. I guess it runs in your blood, both of you are good seducers," I uttered after saying those words she lift her hand in the air but I attentively held her wrist.

I saw pain cross her face when I squeezed her wrist.

"What are you doing?" that question loosened my hold. I turned my head and I saw Solana looking at me with her eyes filled with judgement.

"I know you don't like me Alton and I understand but please give me a chance to be a mother to you," my forehead creased when I heard those words from Alicia.

I looked at her completely confused.
