Laura felt a light touch on her lower back and turned to see who it was.

She found herself looking up at dark, piercing eyes in a strong, tanned and handsome face then stiffened when she recognised him.

"Sorry I took long in getting the drink my dear, here you go." Greg smiled charmingly at her confused face as he gave her the drink, with a glint in his eyes that hypnotized her into doing what he wanted.

"Uh, thanks...for the drink." She replied, collecting the glass from him but didn't drink the content.

"Oh, you have company," he commented, finally acknowledging Ronald's presence. "How's your life, Daniels?"

"I'm always good, as you know." Ronald replied with a smirk. "And how's yours, Williams?"

"Never better." Greg answered drily and turned to face a confused Laura. He offered her an arm which she automatically accepted and he smiled triumphantly when Ronald scowled.

"Have a good night, Daniels." He said and left immediately with Laura.

Ronald's scowl deepened.

How dare he? How dare Gregory Williams indirectly embarrass him like that? They had never liked each other, even if they greeted when they met on occasions.

He wondered if the beautiful Laura was his woman. A woman that had quite intrigued him, Daniels. A woman that when he had set his eyes on her, he couldn't wait to have her naked body beneath him on his bed.

So if Williams was really interested in her, then he might be up for another competition because he, Ronald Daniels would do all it took to get and have the girl. He would make her fall and become obsessed with him and might even decide to keep her for himself alone if he pleased and there would be nothing Williams would be able to do about it.

Since everyone wanted the newly discovered star, he thought, noticing the other men that were staring at her with lust, everyone would have to fight to get it.

Everyone, including Gregory Williams.

❤❤❤

"I still don't understand why you did what you did." Laura said wide eyed. Wide innocent eyes, he noted.

He had led her to a corner with few people in it.

"I wanted a bit of your company."

He said directly and Laura frowned. She thought he was enjoying her stepsister's company.

"But you don't know me and I don't know you as well."

"But you know my name and I know yours." He said smoothly. She was really an adorable kid. "And I am a friend of your father's."

"But I've never seen you in the house before." She replied innocently.

She's a smart one too. "We meet mainly in the office and we have lunch together at times."

"To discuss business." She said.

He smiled. A very seductive smile that had her breath caught in her throat. His smile faded a little and his gaze went down to her bare creamy neck and shoulders. He felt like burying his face in them and ravish them with his mouth. His eyes travelled lower, down to her breasts, they were not small neither were they too big, just the right size he liked, a moderate amount. Her slim waist and flat tummy curved out to full, trimmed hips and slender thighs.

She was perfection, he thought.

She watched him as his eyes roamed over her body. She was supposed to be offended she thought, but rather she felt pleased and a feminine pride as his eyes showed admiration of her body.

"You are right," He said softly in answer to her question. "To discuss business."

"Laura!"

Laura rolled her eyes at the sound of Mirabel's voice behind her. "Yes?"

"Mom has been looking for you." Mirabel said, her eyes on Greg.

"But..."

"You've wasted enough time already."

Mirabel cut in.

"Uh, okay." She turned to Greg. "I have to go."

But as she made to leave, Greg caught her wrist.

"She'll be with you later."

He said to Mirabel and both she and Laura stared at him with wide eyes.

"But..."

"This is a party," Greg cut in. "Allow her to enjoy herself."

"Laura!" Mirabel almost screamed.

"Sorry Mr Williams... "

"Greg."

"Uh, Greg, I have to go." Laura said with pleading eyes as Greg didn't release her hand.

"We were having a discussion right?"

He asked and she nodded. "We are not done yet."

"I...I'll come back." Laura said and Mirabel scoffed.

"You know mum is an impatient woman, Laura." Mirabel said, putting fear in her.

She turned pleading eyes to him.

"Please I need to go." She would have removed her hand but his grip on her was strong. "Please."

He saw the fear in her eyes and wondered why she was so afraid of her stepmother. Slowly and reluctantly, he let go of her soft hand and she muttered a "Thank you" before she took off. He only hoped she'll return as she had promised. Right now, he wasn't even listening to what Mirabel was saying. He only had the urge to follow her to wherever she was going, but held himself.

Fuck! What was wrong with him? He had to stop behaving like a schoolboy.

She was just like every other woman he  had met, he didn't know what was so special about her.

Excusing himself from Mirabel, he went to the bar to get a drink, then later engaged in a conversation with two men, his eyes involuntarily scanning the place from time to time.

But when she didn't show up again after forty minutes, he gave up hope and all he wanted to do was to leave the place, go home and take a nice shower, then hop into bed, before he gave in to the urge to go upstairs and look for her.

After appreciating West with a gift, he left the party for home.

❤❤❤

She watched him from her window as he drove away with Samantha, then a lone tear trickled down her cheek.

She didn't know why she was sad, she couldn't tell if it was because her stepmother called her upstairs to her room and locked her in, or because he was leaving with her stepsister, after she had told him that she would be back. Well, he might have waited for her and then gave up when he didn't see her.

But why was he going home with Samantha when he didn't seem too interested in her?

Some men could be deceitful. And she needed to stay away from such men. He was very handsome, yes, but he had just crushed the crush she had on him by taking her stepsister to spend the night with him.

Men like him weren't in her league and they couldn't even date a girl like her when they saw classier women like her sisters, everyday and she believed men like him couldn't be satisfied with one woman, with all those looks and money he had. She knew he was rich, judging from the car he came with and he had also said he did businesses with her father.

If she ever had the opportunity of encountering him again, she would pretend she didn't know him, since he belonged to her stepsister already.

Sighing deeply, she stood up and walked to her bed, then she heard the turning in the lock and the door opened to reveal her stepmother's pretty but evil face. She was smirking.

"You can come out now."

She said simply, then turned and walked out of the room.

That was when it hit her, the real reason why her stepmother had locked her in was because of.....Greg.

But why...?

 ❤❤❤

Greg glanced at Samantha who had been shamelessly staring at him since he started driving her back home.

When he was leaving, Mrs West and her daughter had approached him and asked him to give the girl a lift to the ATM machine so she could withdraw some money. He didn't want to seem rude, especially to Mrs West, so he agreed to take Samantha and even waited for her to withdraw the money and was now taking her home.

"I was thinking," She said. "Why don't we go to your place?"

He smirked. His place! Was she kidding? Didn't she know that all he wanted right now was his bed to himself? All he wanted to do was sleep and forget about a certain light skinned beauty with the sexiest body that has refused to leave his head.

"I don't think that's a good idea at the moment." He replied.

"Why not?" He could sense shock and disappointment in her voice.

"Because your father is having a party and you're supposed to be there."

"He won't even notice my absence."

"But that would be a disrespect to him," Greg pointed out. "Taking his daughter away during his own party wouldn't sound nice and I'm sure your mother would  be waiting for you."

"She's not!" Samantha almost shouted. "And I assure you that my father won't find anything wrong with it, I know my father." Samantha persuaded.

Greg sighed tiredly. She sure was persuasive.

"Some other time, my dear." He said softly and didn't miss the look of horror on her face before he focused back on his driving.

When he bade Samantha a goodnight, he thought of going in with her to see if his angel was back in the party but decided against it since he had already told West that he was leaving.

But he would definitely see her again.

He turned and took the road to his house. And when he got home, he went straight to his room and then into the shower after he shed his clothing.

Damn, he really needed a cold shower but when the water trickled down his body, all he could think of was Laura's soft hands on his body slowly and sensually caressing all part  of it and he, doing the same to her own goddess body.

Snapping out of his thoughts, he angrily got out of the shower and dried his body with his white towel.

Even the cold shower hadn't helped. What the fuck was wrong with him? He thought. He was behaving like a sex starved teenage boy and he didn't like it one bit. He had never felt this way about any woman before, this overwhelming urge to possess a woman and make her his and his alone.

He hopped into his bed, taking deep, slow breaths and prayed for sleep to envelope him but he knew sleep wasn't ready to grace his eyes yet and he cursed himself for feeling this high over a woman that probably wasn't even thinking about him in the same way.

Then a thought suddenly occurred to him and he sat up sharply.

No, no no, no, no, he was the biggest fool of the century.

How could he? How could he have forgotten that Ronald Daniels was probably still at the party. What if his angel had returned and Ronald found her alone?

He tried not to think about it but it was impossible. The girl was messing with his head.

He couldn't allow Ronald get close to her and he wouldn't allow it. Not just Ronald, but any man that may try to. And he knew there would be many of them, he just hoped she wouldn't give in to them, especially Ronald. She was too innocent for him.

He laughed out at his words. Innocent for Ronald? She was too innocent for him, Greg, as well! He knew he wasn't a saint but he would never hurt her. Pure angels like her were not meant to be hurt but treated as the delicate beings that they were.

He would surely make her his and his alone. And no man would stand in his way.

 ❤❤❤

Laura was surprised when she saw Samantha at breakfast. She wondered whether she hadn't spent the night with Greg after all. But it couldn't be, because she didn't see her stepsister throughout last night, so that could only mean that she had spent the night with him and returned early that morning, though she hadn't expected the Samantha she knew to return this early. Maybe she had the decency to fear their father and returned home before he woke up from sleep.

When they were done with their breakfast, her father broke her heart by announcing that he would be leaving the country again in three days time and wasn't comforted even when he said he would only be spending a week. A whole one week of  fresh maltreatment on her.

She prayed for strength as she tried to push away the picture of a dark handsome face smiling seductively at her.
