Chapter 171

Author's POV

When Lance left the dungeon after asking his guards to deal with the bodies, he went to wash up. Thankfully, J was asleep so he dismissed the guards, entered the room and went straight to the bathroom. When he was done, and he had removed every trace of blood, he thanked Daphne and Anna and also dismissed them from the room.

When he lay down next to J, she woke up and clung to him. He kissed her forehead and whispered, “Go back to sleep J”

He felt her nod against him, and she coddled against him. He thought she had finally gone back to sleep again when she whispered, “What is it?”

“It’s nothing”

“We heard gunshots,” she said sleepily.

“Hmm. Nothing serious”

She finally sat up and stared at him. “You took your bath”
