Chapter Five

Liam’s Point of view

***

Immediately we touched down in Los Angeles after a 6-hour flight that was already tired, we arrived thirty minutes past midnight.

The driver dropped off Vicky at her apartment first before driving me home. As he drove down the hill I noticed my 20,000-square feet house there. I opened the window to the car so that I could let the fresh smell of the river hit my nostrils. The house overlooks much of L.A.'s entire Westside, with views that sweep over Will Rogers State Park on their way to the Pacific Ocean.

He finally opened over and I got out as I walked to the glass door I punched in my passcode the doors opened.

Immediately after I entered the house the motion sensor lights came on. "Good evening Liam" Alexa the AI welcomed me as soon as I walked over to the living room. I was making my way to the bedroom.

"Evening Alexa, please could you lock the door and turn off the lights?" I asked her, as I went to the bathroom.

I made my way into the bedroom and the first thing I did was take a shower in the bathroom that was looking outside the lights. After finishing I sent some emails before heading to bed.

I was exhausted just from the fight. I got in bed and slept.

The next morning I was woken up by the loud alarm by my bedside as I got out of bed, I took a shower and got all dressed up in a dark blue suit.

I didn't take time to eat and just made my way to the office because I wanted to catch up on a lot of work before my conference call.

I drove into the building and went to park my car at my designated spot before heading inside the office, I was the CEO of Anderson group. We have in real estate and hotel business. And while my elder sister is the COO my young brother works as CMO.

"Good morning you" Emma excitedly welcomed me as I walked into the building.

"Good morning" I replied with a smile on my face as we made our way to the elevator.

"So I was thinking, about your lunch date with Michelle Owens, since she canceled. I had the liberty to…" she wanted to suggest as I frowned.

"She canceled?" I intertype turning to her as she rolled her eyes. I am sure she could hear the excitement in my voice.

"Yes. She canceled. But I was thinking that maybe…. It was for the better" She smiled at me as I rolled my eyes making my way out of the elevator to my office.

'Well, don't you think you have tired enough? I mean, this is the fourth person to cancel right?" I inquired her as she swallowed hard.

"Listen, Emma, I know you have tried okay. I might be the sexiest man alive and rich but no person would want to settle down with me after all the rumors. Come on" I said to her as I walked to my desk, my office had the best views in the entire building,, even though it wasn't a corner office at least I could see the beauty of LA just being here.

"I know. But I was thinking, there's someone I think you might be interested in. It's simply a date, and if you like her we can agree with them. I have been talking to her mom and if we settle with her. We invest in their business and we have access to the most sort-after land downtown." She tried to convince me, that with her everything is about business.

That's why she ended up marrying one of the biggest losers in Los Angeles because she wanted to do business instead of marrying for the right reason.

"Or we could settle for the Ramirez, they are desperate for an investment from us, we offer them the money and we will be gifted with this" she showed me a tablet of the land that I have been wanting for years.

"Emma, I just don't think any of those ladies would agree to…" I wanted to explain as she shook her head.

"Liam you need to act fast. Do you think it's a coincidence that he could invite you over for Sunday brunch at the same time with Michael? He's not just trying to unite the family, I have a feeling he might give his position to Michael, and believe me it does not look too good for you" she convinced me as I swallowed hard looking at her, she was determined that she doesn't let my stepbrother have my position.

"Come on. A marriage of convenience is common in our world" she convinced me as I sighed heavily, I wanted to marry because I was ready not because my father thought I was not capable of running the company.

My father has always believed that a family man is a better candidate to run the business than someone single and rumored to be gay.

"Fine. I will do it. Who are our choices today?" I asked her as she showed me the pictures on her tablet.

"First choice, Joanna hills. Or Eleanor Ramirez, both them are goal-oriented and focused. But I am sure you know Eleanor because that's the woman who designed my wedding dress and mum's dress at my wedding" She explained as she showed me a picture of Eleanor, I knew her name but not her face.

"Is this her?" I questioned as I recalled the picture of the woman I met last night, they looked familiar.

"Yes, she's back in town today and we can set up for Sunday evening for dinner. What do you think?" She insisted as I sighed heavily. I looked at the woman's picture for a moment silently.

"Okay. Sunday evening. I don't like her this is the last time I am doing this" I caution her as she smiles at me vividly.

'Of course. Don't worry about it. I will let her know" she says before turning around as I sit down opening my laptop, I need to find out more about her before I even go for the date.

I search for her name on the internet and pictures of her pop up from all her events. She looks much more focused and maybe it might be the best thing to do at the moment. Maybe I can try to get to know her with time since Emma insists and she has a good sight for women.
