My eyes lit up the moment they landed on Martha’s form, the instant she got in.

I immediately went over to embrace her, feeling exhilarated already, just with her presence.

Her giggles were muffled under my shirt, but I continued to smother her with all the kisses I could give.

I knew that I was acting clingy and needy, but the last time I was separated from her, she was in the hospital. So excuse me if I’m being a little tacky.

“I missed you so much,” I whispered in her ear and she smiled.

“I told you that I’ll bring her home in one piece,” Sara scoffed, lugging in some bags of clothes from the car.

“Well now, I believe you,” I teased, and she rolled her eyes, taking the bags in.

“Ahem,” I heard a familiar cough, causing me to pull away from Martha, albeit reluctantly. I stood aside, allowing Martha to see our guests properly.

“Kai and his family arrived here a few minutes after I called you,” I explained to her and I could see her eyes twinkling.
