Finally Meet

Eva's POV

MIDNIGHT

I don't know when I fall asleep thinking about Mark and Mom, but when I sense someone's breathing above me, I cannot help but open my eyes uneasily.

However, what I did not expect was that Mark was the one above me.

Suddenly his presence made me so shocked that I almost stopped breathing. My lips were tightly sealed while my eyes uncertainly stared at him.

I wanted to ask what he is doing here. Why is he not with Mom? Is he left her alone?

Thinking the last thing, my brows twisted with a frown, and I finally opened my mouth to ask, "What are you doing here?" The question came out of my mouth before I could stop it. I hoped it didn't sound too accusatory, but I couldn't help feeling a little suspicious.

I used my arm to push him, but he did not fudge from his spot and looked at me with a straight face before answering me in a cold voice, "She got urgent work and left the dinner."

"What?" My eyes winded as I tried to get up from bed, and he finally moved from me.
