Doubt and distrust

Allie's POV

We were on our way to the mansion. Aaron made an effort to start a reasonable communication which I often find a way to cut short with uninterested feedback.

My mood was down from feeling culpable after giving a deep thought to the situation I am entangled in.

Aaron figured out a motive and let me be. "I can see you are fatigued. It's because you don't attend public occasions often. But you still have to put it in mind that on Thursday is fathers 65th birthday. Wait for my arrival on Wednesday, we will be going together " he reassured and reminded me.

My eyes grew wide in remembrance. Mr Smith told me when I called him last week that the family members are arranging a big celebration. He had said it will be combined with a celebration of his wellness and had told me to be at the mansion on Wednesday as some of the Smith extended relatives will be present.
