*JASON RAISER*

The scientists tried to mimic Jason's mutations, but couldn't prevail for the longest time. They're only hope was that he could reproduce. They gathered a dozen women who passed all the physical and mental health tests and fertilized their eggs with Jason's sperm. Eight women survived birth, and only two babies lived. Among testing what had happened, they found the two surviving babies shared certain DNA markers the others did not.

Through the sequencing they realized to make new hunters they needed very specific women with specific markers. They were only able to successfully inject three fetuses with Jason's virus and it create hunters like him, though to find out not as strong or powerful. This is when Jason came up with the mapping of DNA to allow the hunter genes to go on without inbreeding.

"Jason, it's ascension day." Daniel said to his son. He mustered up a smile, the only time he could smile was when seeing his surviving, thriving son. The miracle that kept the love of his life alive, and would lead humanity to salvation. Or would try.

Jason had grown into a handsome man, the spitting image of his mother. The same dark hair and green eyes. But he was a big man, very tall and solid muscle. Decidedly a result from the virus his DNA had mutated with. He was more like his father though, more serious and stern. Very goal oriented and logical. Perhaps it was genetically passed to him or a symptom of his enviroment growing up in a war torn world filled with monsters.

Jason was twenty-five now and had grown up fighting these monsters, being trained and tested like a lab rat. But on the other hand he was well loved by his father, and grew up being told how much his mother would have loved him. Never was there a day that went by that Jason didn't truly feel he was loved. But in this world, the love couldn't create softness nor mercy. He was raised to hate the monsters that killed his mother and sister, to hate them beyond any degree imaginable.

And so he did.

Over the years the scientists noticed at the age of twenty-five all blood born werewolves go through a sort of ascension. More specifically the first full moon after their twenty-fifth birthday. Since Jason and werewolves seemed to share more characteristics than Jason and the vampires, his father and the team decided to try an ascension ceremony as well, just in case he went through a similar power boost.

And Jason did. He ascended. He became faster, stronger, healed even quicker than he had before. His endurance and agility hieghtened to the point he moved more like the graceful vampires than the loud wolves. The ascension worked differently for him than the werewolves, they grew more powerful and faster yes, but a hunter ascension seemed to activate more of the vampire qualities of the virus.

Jason had been infected by someone who was suffering from the original virus, where it contained the attributes of the werewolves and vampires before breaking off into separate strains. The original virus no longer existed. It was just the two mutated, more specific strains.

"Well hello there handsome." A beautiful blonde vampire said smiling at Jason. He returned the smile and walked up to her with all the confidence in the world. She was intoxicated by him, something that wasn't felt by vampires. "Welcome to Maresol's Good Time.... What can I do for you?" She leaned forward against the bar pushing up her breasts. He sat at the bar and leaned close to her.

"What are you...offering?"

"For you? Me..."

"How much?"

"Hundred. For the entire night."

"Deal." He winked, "shall we go?"

Her plan was to fuck him, and then drain him till he died.

He followed her up the stairs and to the bedroom, locking the door behind him he watched her remove her clothes before beginning to remove his. Vampires and werewolves hadn't quite caught on to the fact there was someone out there hunting them down and killing them, with ease, and that were not each other.

Jason's favorite to kill were female werewolves, he tended to have sex with all the females he would kill, and he preferred the warm, firmer bodies of werewolves compared to the colder, nearly hardened bodies of vampires. But he wasn't too picky in the grand scheme of things.

He pinned her to the bed and thrust into her hard and fast. He was selfish in terms of he didn't care how long or how little time it took him to get off. If he felt the need to, he did. He didn't share feelings for these beasts. He had a lot of stamina and endurance so they were never disappointed.

"I've never been with a human that could fuck like that." She gushed, "I may try to turn you just to keep you around."

"I don't think that's a possibility." He laughed and she looked at him confused. "You can't do that."

"Oh really? You think you could stop me if I decided I want to?"

"Oh for sure." He stood up and had just pulled up his jeans. "Enjoyed myself though. Thanks."

The vampire jumped up angrily and was at him in a split second. But he had her by her throat, overpowering her. She was confused. "I'm not a human..." Her eyes got huge, he laughed, "I'm not one of those nasty little mutts either."

"Then what are you?" She choked out from around his grip.

"I'm a hunter sweet heart. I hunt all you evil fuckers down, and kill you. I'm as strong, as fast, as powerful as both of you species, and I heal just as fast. I have all the positive attributes of vampires, werewolves and humans, but none of the negatives. I've killed so many of you all, and still you don't notice you're being hunted. It's almost insulting. I'm officially going to introduce myself." He squeezed her throat harder and she struggled to be released. "My name is Jason Raiser. I am ninety-three years old. When my mother was pregnant with me someone infected with the original virus attacked her, passing it on to me....But, there's a twist. It didn't kill me, it didn't turn me into one of you, it turned me into this. Something superior to you all. I am a hunter. I will hunt all of you vampire and werewolf pests down one by one until you're all dead. And I am no longer the only hunter now. There are more of us. And we are coming for you all."

He released her, letting her drop to the floor stunned. She watched him in shock as he got dressed and left the room without another word, and without paying her. Word of him spread pretty quick too, amongst the vampires anyway. He now had a vicious reputation and was finally tied to all the mysterious vampire deaths throughout North America. He had a nearly two-hundred kill record on the vampires alone.

"Hey, you're not a vampire...you don't look like werewolf either..." A young brunette woman asked, "human?"

"Something like that." Jason replied looking at her. There was something familiar about her, the way she looked and the energy he felt from her. She was striking, yet very average looking. She seemed sweet, almost innocent, but was backed by a strength and bravery he couldn't quite understand.

"Ah, a hunter." She nodded nonchantly. "I haven't run into another hunter, ever I think. What's your name? I'm looking for someone specific."

"Jason Raiser." He replied, his entire demeanor had softened in her presence. "What do you mean another hunter?"

"Oh...well I'm a hunter...And I've been looking for you. The first of us. My name is Rebecca." She reached a hand out to him and both of them felt a shock shoot up their bodies.

"Nice to meet you Rebecca." He fell in love with her in that very instance.

They went on to marry, despite his laws about how marriages were set up for hunters, and had thirteen kids over the period of a hundred years. Many were killed off in a massive war in South America.

My dearest Nancy and my beautiful daughter Jasmine are dead. Slaughtered by one of the infected. Jason is two months old now, and is phenominal. He is already standing on his own, and can get on his knees. We expect him to be able to crawl soon. After so much testing on my poor boy, we discovered he did get infected with the original virus. Virus X-1, but instead of it mutating him into those vicious monsters, it seemed more like his DNA bonded with the virus' DNA creating a more perfect human. A super human of sorts. At two months old the child should barely be able to hold up his own head, but he's on the verge of crawling and can stand up. He also heals within minutes of injuries and seems to feel little pain. We're continuing watching him, but my theory is that he has recieved the same attributes as the other infected, but without the negative consequences of being infected. One thing I know for sure is that I will raise him hate those bastards, all of them, for killing Nancy. And for killing Jasmine. They took the love of my life away from me, and I can't get her back. Jason is all I have now. And God he looks just like her. It breaks my heart and keeps it beating at the same time every time I look at him. I feel sadness for him, that he will never get to know how amazing and beautiful and strong his mother was.

It's my first Halloween without Nancy. It was her favorite holiday, she went crazy decorating. More than she did for Christmas. I dressed Jason up as a pumpkin, she would've dressed him up like that. Can't take him trick or treating though, that doesn't exist anymore. He is crawling now, and can take steps while holding onto things. He is also trying to talk, I think he's trying to say 'dada,' but who knows? I would've loved to hear him say 'mama' for the first time. So after more testing, we did discover he has totally bonded with the virus. And he so far seems to possess the increased speed, strenght, agility and healing abilities as the other infected. But he doesn't possess the rage or raw animalistic traits, nor the desire to eat humans or drink their blood. He seems and acts perfectly human, but with those abilities. If this continues, he may be humanities key to surviving and killing off the monsters. If he is as strong as them, without all the things that make them monsters, he could be the savior.

"Sebesatian...Want to see this?" Theo asked holding up a few pieces of paper pulling him from the journal. "What is that?"

"It's the journals from Daniel Raiser."

"Who?"

"Daniel Raiser. He was the first hunter's father. It's kind of a sad story to be totally honest with you. I see where the the hatred for our kind began. I thought they were Jason Raiser's journals and was curious, but his father's writings could prove more beneficial since his father is the one who helped create more hunters. He was a scientist too." Sebastian replied carefully setting the old book down on his desk. "Don't let anyone touch these. I may ask one of the younger ones to rewrite these in newer books so that the stories live on before the journals fall apart. If you know any we can trust, please let me know."

"I have one in mind." He said handing the papers to Sebastian who silently looked them over a few times. Theo sat in a chair across the desk from Sebastian waiting for him to speak.

"Well...The hunter lines are all pretty much gone now, they're having a harder and harder time reproducing I see. I wonder why that is? Doesn't say here, have you found any information on this in any other papers?"

"No. Nothing. In fact this is the only relevant information we can find. It's what he was carrying in his briefcase."

"These are formulas, probably for the virus or something. I bet there are some in these journals too. They're going to try and recreate the original virus and create a new line of hunters. Doesn't seem like they're having much success."

"Not that we know of anyway." Theo added.

"I wonder though...If they got a hold of say a hunter with the original, pure blood line, if they could recreate the virus and make new hunters? I'm going to read more into Daniel's journals, I may find some answers in there. If that's something they can do, then that Raiser girl could be a target, or ally or...something."

"Well we're going to kill her anyway, so why does that matter?"

"Who said we were going to kill her?"

"I assumed we would since she's coming here to kill you...us."

"We will, but I want information from her. I am a hundred years old, and I've yet to figure out how the hell to kill a hunter other than decapitation, but very few lycans possess the strength to actually rip off their heads and hunters are typically faster than us...more agile. I need to know if there is something else."

"Our pack have almost all lost a person due to her family, namely her father. It will not be well received among the pack to keep her alive...for any reason."

"That is too bad. Everyone will need to deal with it. Her father killed my family too, but sometimes you need to set aside emotions for logic."

"Okay." Theo nodded.

"I'm going to keep going through this stuff okay? Bring me the other paperwork." Sebastian said, "you can go now."

Theo stood up and nodded then left the office.

Jason officially said "dada' that's what he calls me. He is amazing. Nancy would have loved him. She wouldn't have been able to ever stop staring at him and his magnificence. Jasmine was normal, but smart, but he's special. Very special. Some of the infected people aren't actually dying anymore, they're living longer and are controlling themselves more. Virus X V-1, also known as the vampire virus, still causes porphyria. Well, something similar to it. They lose most pigmintation in their skin, so they're very pale. Even people with darker skin tones like hispanics and blacks, are more ashen after contracting this virus. The life span has gone from a few days to a couple of months now, they also aren't so ravenous. They speak now. Virus X V-2, the lycan virus, is also not killling the infected like it used to. We haven't been able to catch anyone infected with either virus to test and see if the virus as officially mutated and is bonding a bit more with human DNA or not. The teams are looking to capture one, we have been watching them for awhile and we've seen them becoming nearly...civilized. It's interesting.
