Chapter fifty four

The air in Dane's room was thick with tension as he paced back and forth, his thoughts consumed by his failure. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest and his palms growing slick with sweat. The walls around him seemed to close in, suffocating him.

He tried to focus on the task at hand, but his mind kept wandering back to Isabelle. She was the only one who could help him now, but he was afraid of what she might do. Would she be angry? Disappointed? Would she even agree to help him?

The room was opulent, a reflection of Dane's status as alpha. The walls were lined with rich tapestries and the floor was made of polished marble. The furniture was ornate, with plush velvet cushions and gilded edges. But despite its grandeur, the room felt stifling to Dane.
