Chapter forty

Her heart began to beat like a drum when the realization of the duel stuck in. She couldn't believe she said yes to Isabelle on that day. Watching Isabelle as she thought of it, with numerous eyes trained on her, she sighed at her fate. There was no use crying over spilled milk.

The glint which reflected in Isabelle's eyes told her she was up to something. And it didn't help either that her gut feelings were stronger now than ever.

Thinking about it as she focused on it, she could hardly concentrate. Everything in her gut told her to flee from the scene. But she pushed it to the back of her mind as usual.

It seemed it was adamant on telling her to flee as sweat trickled down her forearms and her breathing became labored with each passing second.

As she wondered what could go wrong, she could not find an answer as her head came up blank like it always does when she needed it the most
