Chapter thirty nine

Mia looked at Claire who looked like she hadn't slept the night before with eyes bags on and a slumped shoulder.

She seemed to be the only person who understood what Claire was passing through. This wasn't true as Alexander's heart ached to see Claire in such a difficult position.

"Thank you," Claire murmured against her hair which brought calmness to her and made her regain some of her lost confidence.

"Do you want to train one more time?" Mia said, disentangling from the hug and holding her at arm's length with stretched hands on her shoulders.

"No. I don't. It won't bring back some anxiety. And I don't want that. I just hope everything goes well." She turned awafromro Mia and looked towards the gathering crowds.

The sound of his feet against the ground and his fading scent made her know Alexander had gone away to do what God knows.

Murmurs filled the almost filled field which was just outside the house at the back of it where warriors trained.
