Everything Happened for a Reason

They said the weather in Milford Sound is unpredictable. At noon the sun was so hot, half an hour later a storm came without warning. Or it could be that a night full of stars turns into endless rain.

This morning, water droplets greeted Elora as soon as she came out of Arapeta’s house. She only wore a light jacket to protect her from the onslaught of the rain. Hunapo asked Elora to run through the forest as if the brunt of the cold, biting wind meant nothing to him.

“Control your emotions! You have to be calm in any situation!” shouted Hunapo, like a commander who equips his troops with pearls of wisdom before plunging into the battlefield.

Elora didn’t see Caspian anywhere when she came out. She thought Caspian would wait for her in the hallway in front of Elora’s room, leaning against the wall. Or Elora thought Caspian would knock on her bedroom door so early in the morning to wake Elora.
