Jon pov

I know she is faking her smiles and happiness any wolf for a mile can see it. The vacation she mentioned is probably her way to leave and get away from the pain that is etched on her face. She hands in the paperwork that names her pups and doesn't share the names. Jennifer drones on about the pups and I watch Mia look more drained. Her frailness is evident. She looks awful.

"Well we are heading for shots, Jennifer says softly, hope to see you later with your pups",Mia fake smiles as we walk away.

"She is planning on leaving",I say at a safe distance away and Jennifer freezes. She looks back but Mia is gone from sight. I start to worry because if she leaves Derek will be a complete mess when he remembers.

"She wouldn't ",my mate looks sad and depressed. She looks drained too.

"She is barely hanging on Jennifer, I watch my mate deflate, she needs him but he doesn't remember her that is enough to mess with a she wolf badly especially one already on the brink of a mental break",sh
