Amory told me to stay on the couch with her, and I did. We’ve somehow managed to go from her lying in my arms while sitting up, to her lying on my chest, to her being wrapped up in my arms and legs barricaded between the back of the couch and my body. I’m awakened by a rather calm Amory walking into the room I’m asleep in, “mi Amor” (my love)? She walks all the way to the bed with Stephany in her hands as I sit up. “YaYa, my iPad is missing”, Stephany whines. I reached across the bed to where I had charged it, and handed it to her, instantly turning her whining into a giggle. I’m surprised that Spencer and Amory are already up as I make my way to the kitchen in time to hear him ask her, “why do you eat that every day”? From the doorway, I see Amory is sitting on the island countertop with Spencer in front of her. He has his arms resting on her thighs and his hands clasped together behind her back. She shrugs before saying, “tastes good. I haven’t been able to stomach guacamole since I was pregnant, but this still tastes good”! “Why, since you were pregnant?”, he asks. “Because she ate it by the bowlful. She ate so much of it, she started to smell like cilantro and lime juice”, I state.
