Chapter 25: Second Date - Jonny

I’m surprised that Spencer and Amory are already up as I make my way to the kitchen in time to hear him ask her, “why do you eat that every day”?

From the doorway, I see Amory is sitting on the island countertop with Spencer in front of her. He has his arms resting on her thighs and his hands clasped together behind her back. She shrugs before saying, “tastes good. I haven’t been able to stomach guacamole since I was pregnant, but this still tastes good”!

“Why, since you were pregnant?”, he asks.

“Because she ate it by the bowlful. She ate so much of it, she started to smell like cilantro and lime juice”, I state. Amory turns her body enough to look at me in the doorway still as she laughs.

“Your mom’s guacamole was amazing though”, she says.

I just have to roll my eyes. My mother literally made it for her every day, “she was just happy to have someone eat all the vegetables. If she could have permanently moved you into my old bedroom, she would have”!
