Chapter Fifty-Eight

Asher's POV

Fuck, how didn't I notice this? I had nightmares before-- not that they were the same as this but, I knew the signs; dark circles under the eyes from lack of sleep which are clear under hers right now, the persistent fear, I could see the fear in her eyes when she looked at me, so somehow it's centered around me.

"Can you tell me what you saw?" I whispered into her hair.

She hiccuped and sniffled against my chest, he grip tightened on my arm and I knew she didn't want to talk about it.

"You don't have to tell me right now," I said, stroking her hair, "you can tell me later."

I looked at the clock in the hallway, it was 12:57pm, three more minutes till passing period. We have to get out of her before that. I picked her up, walked into the nearest empty classroom and plopped down on a chair, slowly cradling her on my lap, "It's okay." I whispered to her.
