I sat in front of the bathroom mirror, caking mascara unto my eyelashes, when a knock came on the door. I rolled my eyes. It was probably the fifteenth knock in the last ten minutes.

"Um Jane? I really have to go." That was Ed, my roommate.

"I'm almost done." I called back at him, hurrying my makeup for his sake. It had been two  months since I saw Frank last, since I left his house and since I moved in Ed.

I hated having flashbacks to that night. Dan had hung up on me immediately I called him and so there was no hope for me in that area. I'd broke down at the bus stop, missing every bus, just sitting down with my bags by my side, crying my eyes out.

Ed had been kind enough to ask what was wrong with me and my mental state had not cared that he was a complete stranger, I'd just went ahead to tell him every little aspect of my life and how was I homeless.
