Kayla’s POV
I vividly recalled that this case was one of the reasons Emma was demoted some time ago and sent back to Winster county PD as a punishment.
He has always been obsessed with finding the culprit of his parents' murder. I was angry as well.
But the man we are dealing with is not a normal human but a monster. The next thing he said almost made me throw up. “The cries of your mother Theresa as I slit her throat was very sexy.”
In a lightning speed, Emma already seated on him raining punch after punch. The weirdest thing was that he was still laughing. “What sort of human being is this?”

I heard everything going on inside. I was surprised but satisfied with the beating Emma was dishing out to him.

Kayla’s POV I watched as the two men went back and forth with each other. Stanley’s POV “I heard that during Smith’s trial, the judges will be sitting en banc.” Nobody was surprised. “Maybe he will receive the death penalty; even though it is a bench trial,” said Kayla.
