"When you come, your grandpa will surely pester you for great-grandchildren, so prepare yourselves," said Ashley.

Curtis didn't respond. After a while, Ashley ended the call. Curtis thought about his fight with Margot earlier.

How were they supposed to have children like this?

He put his phone away and opened the study door.

He bumped into Margot, who was walking out of the master bedroom with her luggage. He stopped in his tracks and looked at her sharply.

Margot acted as if she didn't see him and walked past him with her head down. Curtis got angry and grabbed her arm.

Margot tried to shake him off, but she failed. She looked up and glared at him. "Let go of me," she said.

"Where are you going in the middle of the night?"

Curtis didn't want to waste any time on her and commanded, "Go back to your room. Follow me to the Crosby residence tomorrow."

Margot said defiantly, "Why should I listen to you?"

"Because I'm your husband," said Curtis in a tone that brooked no argument.
