Mel's POV

Suddenly, Bliss, Charlotte, Patrick, and Ameer come through the back door. When did they even start all hanging out together?

"I know y'all aren't having dinner without me," Patrick says, feigning a gasp, "how could you, Mama?"

Elinda laughs. "There's plenty left for everyone."

Bliss skips over to the table and gives me a gentle hug before plopping down in the seat across from me. "Oh my Goddess, Melanie I'm so glad you're out of the hospital! Patrick is throwing a party Tuesday night. Are you going?" she asks excitedly.

A party? That could be fun. As long as my mate accompanies me, of course. "We'll be there." I gesture towards Jaxon with my head.

"Mel, it's okay. Go hang out with your friends," Jaxon argues, "last time everyone couldn't seem to relax around me."

"That's because you were trying to murder Malcom," I point out.

"He deserved it," he says unapologetically.

I kiss him close to his ear. "Please come. This will be our first appearance as a couple," I whisper.
