Jaxon's POV

"Moon Goddess, that was amazing!" Melanie exclaims, collapsing beside me on the bed. Sunlight spills through the window as the sun rises, casting a warm glow in the room. We'll have to get up soon to complete our pack duties, but right now, I enjoy every second of her presence.

"Be careful, the Moon Goddess might hear you," I warn playfully.

Who knows the powers she possesses, but I hope the Moon Goddess doesn't mind the fact that I'm fucking one of her chosen guardians or whatever she is to her.

Melanie snorts. "Do you actually believe she exists?"

"Do you?" I ask, curious about her response.

She pauses, considering it. "Maybe, but if she was, why would she choose someone like my father as Alpha? Like, yeah, let's give all of these narcissistic, fucked up assholes unlimited power over other people. And then we have no choice but to obey their every command unless we want to be tortured or killed." Her voice is thick with disgust, as it should be.
