CHAPTER 82

She washed her face then decided to leave the room. She knew her grandmother would be surprised that she never came out again. Shirley knocked on her door earlier and told her that she made excuses for her when her grandmother asked about her. 

Fortunately, Shirley didn't push her to say more. She must have locked herself in the room for about half an hour and did nothing but cry. She adjusted her glasses to cover up the puffiness of her eyes. When she left, only Shirley's parents and a few relatives were left.

"Why did your boss leave immediately?" her grandmother immediately asked.

"H-he's coming back to Manila and he's afraid that he might spend the night on the road if he will not travel earlier," that's all she thought of as an excuse and avoided looking into the old woman's eyes.

"Oh, is that the case?" She knew she wasn't convinced by her answer but didn't ask any more questions.

She just put all her attention into sorting out the clutt
