THE PLOT - CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT

"I've actually been in town this whole time. I just needed to confirm what I saw."

She's been here the whole time? She's been deceiving us about her trip to America, plotting to shame me. But Catherine's current presence was a puzzle I couldn't solve unless one of them chose to clarify. Their stares were intense. I felt as though I could vanish into thin air or rewind time as if it never occurred.

"There was a time, I went back to the US for a photo shoot, and Catherine noticed that I was distant. She came up to me and asked what was wrong. I had to be honest with her and tell her that I didn't appreciate the hurtful things she did to you. She was shocked that we were neighbours. I wish I had taken her warning about you seriously. She had cautioned me to keep my man away from you, but I trusted you. It's clear now; how someone like you had Zach wrapped around your finger."
