I came out of the bathroom trying to act as if nothing had happened, passing a hand through my hair and trying to untangle it. I looked around and walked over to the bar, pretending I had been there all along, perched on a stool, and ordered a non-alcoholic.

I stayed there for a while before Jess and Lucas caught up with me.

"Where the hell were you?" Jess asked me drunk.

"I’ve always been here, Jess," I said biting my cheek, I hated lying to her, but I certainly couldn’t tell her I was fucked against the bathroom door by her brother.

"That’s not true!" she said, shaking her head, "I didn’t see you."
