Chapter 38: The Plan

I smiled at my sister’s resounding laugh. Instead of pointing her out, I stayed silent and giggled along with her, not wanting her to go back to the sour mood that she had.

I secretly hoped that she had already forgotten that she was just mad at me. I looked up at her when she spoke as I go along with her.

“You see? Even I were feeling second hand embarrassment from you,” she adds after her laughter had died down.

I frowned once again when I remembered that she wasn’t just laughing earlier, she was laughing at me.

“So what?” I asked, still acting ignorant and stubborn. “It’s the reason why Pietro and I became close to each other. If it wasn’t for that maybe we wouldn’t have been engaged by now.”

“Yeah, you continue doing that and you are going to get dumped on your wedding day,” she muttered sarcastically making me frown. “Pietro’s going to realize that he made a mistake asking you for marriage.”

“You’re just a pessimist. You always assume the worst that could happen.”
