"What is he talking about, Lucas? What did you do? What did you pay him for and when did you meet him? Were you conspiring against me by teaming up with my ex-husband? Tell me!" I shouted out in anger.

"What?! No! You are taking this wrong." Lucas said instantly and glared at Daniel " The bastard showed up at my office unannounced one day and blackmailed me to tell you that I am engaged so I just paid him to keep his mouth shut. That's it. I wanted to be the one to tell you about my engagement from my mouth and if you had come to know about it from him, it would have been disaster. It's not like it isn't a disaster now. But, I didn't know things would turn out this way and now you already know that I am engaged but trust me I am trying hard to break that engagement off."
