CHAPTER 26

LEO

"Leo, please come and help me out. I'm having a sharp pain in my waist and I can't bear it." It was Clara showcasing her dramatic abilities. Ever since her belly protruded, she would always find a way to get on my nerves.

I was with Sarah in the living room, and she lay on my thighs as we watched a Television show together.

Sarah's grief took a physical toll on her body. She lost her appetite, and her already slender frame became gaunt and fragile. She barely left her room, spending most of her days lying in bed and staring at the ceiling. When she did venture out, it was only to take short walks around the block, lost in her thoughts.

I could see how much Sarah was suffering, and I knew I had to do something to help her. I took some time off work, to spend some time with her and to be by her side.

We sat in the living room, watching a TV show when Clara distracted us with her annoying demands.

I ignored her and kept watching the TV, but Sarah pinched me.
