Alex was defeated, any hope of getting Amber to notice him gone straight out the window.
He’d been staring at her for the past hour now, finally gaining freedom from the prison that was his own body. At first, he assumed that it was the blood that had magically teleported him back into his body but after Amber constantly raised his arms to survey them, he was whizzed back in each time. Now he just floated above his body, watching Amber watch him.
After three hours of playing ghost, trying to communicate with Amber, and messing with his own body, he was now starting to grow bored. He couldn’t leave the room no matter what hole he tried to creep out off, the gaping door a great taunt. He also couldn’t really breathe properly, at times the air choking him to tears.
It wasn’t after watching his body for five hours that he realized that his body wasn’t breathing.
I really am dead?
For some reason, Alex had managed
The little chat between Bianca and Xavier had only managed to raise questions in Alex to which he knew no answers would come, their lips sealed as if an intruder were present in the room. Their secretiveness was irritating but there was only so much he could ask for. Alex had once again been freed from his body, now just floating above the silent two, waiting for any conversation to happen between them. Maybe he was asking for too much. He already knew Xavier was a man of no words, it seemed Bianca was as well. The duo was overwhelming just standing there silently, even to ghost Alex who was invisible to their gaze, well somewhat at least. Xavier had managed to burn that gruesome killing into Alex’s memory and Bianca just looked like someone who would slay a dragon then kill the princess at the end. Not to say she looked evil or anything but definitely someone to steer far from. Very far. She was no doubt as jaw-dropping as the rest with all the pretty qualit
Alex’s throat burned, the air around him vanishing along with his vision. There was a bone-chilling cold around him, the feeling of death so near it was licking at his ear. There was a sick feeling bubbling in his throat, his insides churning along with his vigorous heartbeats. He wanted to yell out, scream for god’s sake but he barely made a peep, his body slowly descending into hell. He clawed above him, hoping to grasp on the single thread of life that weakly strung to his body, but before he could it tore, his body flung deeper into the abyss. Alex snapped open his eyes, trying not to suffocate with the controlled breathing he was forced into. His entire being was shaken, the sight of darkness spelling fear into him. Was he alive? No Bianca had said that he wasn’t but he still wanted to believe that he wasn’t dead yet. He could at least take comfort in the sight of the celling however he was paralyzed within his body again, unable to break loose f
Those words rang clear through Josh. The revelation just as heart-lifting as the fact that Alex wasn’t dead. He really didn’t know which to be happy about more. The silence stretched along for another solid minute, the news needing time to really sink in. Alex wasn’t dead, better yet there was a way to bring him back? All this news was almost dizzying.“But I’ll need your help, Josh,” Amber said, suddenly all eyes focused onto him. There was no questioning it, he would definitely help as much as he could. It’s the least he could do after Alex had literally thrown his life for him.“Of course, I’ll do anything.”Josh was determined, whatever it was that she had to offer, he was ready to accept.*The moon shone brightly in the pitch sky, a gust of wind cutting through them rendering Josh temporarily blind. He held onto the large sweater he wore, trying to warm himself even wit
“Where am I?” Josh’s voice echoed, his surrounding nothing but emptiness for as far as the eye could see. He clearly remembered drinking the tea but no memories of how he ended up in this place. He’d been walking for hours now, aimlessly moving about in the empty space. Maybe there was an intended destination? Or maybe he was supposed to stay in his spot cause if so then he’d lost it long ago. There weren’t really any instructions given to him so could he really be at fault? He was tempted to call out for the lady in hopes of getting some kind of heads up, maybe even a tutorial or something.“I’m finally here,” The lady said, proofing right in front of Josh who personally wasn’t a fan of jump scares.“My apologies, it's much harder to get into the body of such an important creature.”Important creature? Right. Alex was a pureblood, whatever that meant. At least he finall
The rain came pouring down onto the concrete sidewalks, the large droplets bashing against the window seal blurring out anything to be seen beyond. The sky had turned a bleak grey darkening the surroundings. Thunder rumbled loudly, lightning crashing every so often to coat everything in blinding white.Alex was seated in the small living room, scrolling through the few TV channels. Jamie was taking a nap along with their mum so he was the only one awake. The house was dark, the only light coming from their old model tv, the booming of thunder causing Alex to jump at times.A knock sounded at the door; Alex unsure if he had actually heard it. The rain was pouring so loud that he thought he’d heard wrong but the knock came again. Alex stood, unsure whether to check or not.Why would someone be at the door in this crazy weather and even if there was someone then why didn’t they use the doorbell? The only person that never used it was&helli
“Alex?” Josh called the emotions in his tone causing Alex to jolt awake. What was happening? Why was Josh looking straight at him and holding him up? Why could he move his tongue around and actually taste something even if it was the wretched morning breath?“You can see me?” Alex choked, the lack of moisture causing his voice to scratch at his throat. His fingers twitched slightly, getting him to look down at them, the shock finally setting in.I have hands!Whilst still staring down at his bony fingers, Josh had managed to retrieve a glass of water, passing it to Alex who stared at it, his gaze bewildered. He then looked up at Josh who slowly had a smile spreading onto his face. The glass of water looked so tempting, his mouth calling out for any liquid but alas his hands sat on his lap, utterly useless. He couldn’t even communicate his problem to Josh since his voice had no vigor.Despite that, he co
Josh sniffled, the sound the only thing to cut through the awkward silence floating about in the room. Alex was minding his own business; glad he had the bowl of soup in his hands to keep him from sitting idle. Although it didn’t do much to simmer the tense atmosphere.Xavier stood in the corner of the room, back against the wall, eyes piercing into Alex’s soul all whilst the person in question played a blind man. Josh on the other hand looked to combust at any second, the laughter held within making itself known at times only to be covered up by a few measly coughs.Really Alex wished the soup would never finish cause one, it deflected him from even more awkward, and two, it was fucking delicious as expected. But alas, he could only scoop so much of the drops with the spoon before Josh flew to grab the bowl and was out like the flash.Top ten betrayals right there. Now Alex had nothing to do but stare at his hands, his feet shifting uncomfort
Taking a shower never felt so amazing. Having been restricted to a bed for several weeks has really brought a new sense of appreciation for a lot of things. Like hot showers, Alex already greatly appreciated them but it’s definitely been doubled. Also, how he’s able to walk, walking feels amazing and so is standing.Alex turned the faucet stopping the flow of water, sighing a bit, wishing he could stay there for a bit more but it’s been hours and his fingers were long past the pruning stage. Josh was also kind enough to make him something to eat as a tribute for the assholery portrayed earlier.Alex stepped out of the shower, the freezing air beating at his exposed skin, a shiver snaking way into his body. He grabbed the towel hanging not too far before wrapping it around himself and moving to the sinks. He let out yet another sigh, really feeling good. God moving felt so fucking nice. He took his hand through his wettened strands, enjoying the
