LIVERPOOL, 1465. 

I sat with my hands on the table, a glass of alcohol being whirled in one of my hands. I was staring at this lady throughout the party, and it seemed I couldn't get my mind off her. Our eyes had met a couple of times, and she had smiled at me each time. Solomon was staring somewhere, completely disinterested in the party.

We were at a party which the wealthiest and most well-respected members of the society attended. It would have been an incomplete party if Solomon and I had missed out. Though we had just begun living with the humans some years back, I felt we were to attend this gathering. It was enticing knowing we could do anything we wanted.
