Derek is sick

Charlotte watched Alex as he drove away, feeling a mix of frustration and disappointment at his behavior. He seemed incredibly ridiculous and pathetic. Starting the car, she headed home, eager to see Derek.

Passing by a store, she decided to pick up something sweet for Derek, wanting to show him her appreciation and express how much she loved him.

Upon arriving home, she inquired about Derek's whereabouts from the maids. They informed her that he was in Rebecca’s room, who had just woken up.

Hurrying to Rebecca’s room, she found the door partially open and entered without knocking.

“Rebecca,” she said softly as she entered the room.

Rebecca was seated upright on the bed, a tray of food placed in front of her on a stool. Derek stood by the window, engrossed in a phone call. He seemed unaware of Charlotte's presence. Rebecca appeared a bit pale as Charlotte approached her. “Charlotte?” she called out.
