"Dad, when are you going to make the announcement? There are a lot of things to set up and people to warn. We have to hurry. Poor Maylin is living like a soul in pain."

Jia Li's petulant voice interrupted Ming Chun Chu's musings, intent on reviewing the bad contract he held in his hands for the umpteenth time.

For many days now, he had shut himself away in his old study to avoid his daughter's complaints and his grandchildren's despotic attitudes.

He had no peace at work either, having to constantly correct the mistakes of his incompetent son-in-law.

Over the years, he had seen the thriving company that his father had painstakingly built up from a small workshop become weaker and weaker, to the benefit of younger, more economically attractive companies. He was too old to cope with all the technological gadgetry that seemed to have supplanted the dear old personal arrangements.
