CHAPTER CXVIII: IN THE MIDDLE OF A BLIZZARD

Angela’s POV

I squinted at my wristwatch and realized that it’s already twelve in the evening and the wind started to gust so strong too. I have anticipated the coldness and the sting of driven snow on my face, but not the ferocity of the wind. It was like walking into a fresh page as the fibres are still being laid down, making me appear as if I’m a part of the scenery instead of being a person in my own right. All that I could do is to bow my head until my chin touched my chest as I kept walking and moving my gloved hand holding the flashlight in it. 

My feet are beginning to freeze and my footsteps are becoming small, sinking in past my ankles with each stride. I can feel my lips trembling because of the coldness so I just keep on blowing so it would somehow feel warm. 

Where is that necklace? I’m sure I just dropped that here. That can’t be missing. I kept on looking even though the wind almost blinded me already. I tried to take a big step but re
