He's Dead

“Anais?” A man looks at her, she tries smiling.

“I’m David, sorry for the late notice. As I said, a regular got sick, and there was your submission. Are you ready?”

Hell, this is happening too quickly, and she feels her head nod despite not wanting to. She wants to run now and fast.

“Great this way.” He leads her to the stage.

As she walks out, she feels the overwhelming sense of sickness growing in the pit of her stomach as she gets herself ready. Her body shakes, and she is praying that the clattering of her teeth won’t be heard when she begins to sing.

Closing her eyes, she imagines she is at home, away from everyone, hidden away. The beat of the music starts, and she keeps her eyes closed as she begins to sing.

Her words are slow and angelic as she sings the lyrics to her own song, her pure voice shocking everyone as she keeps her eyes closed to avoid seeing any shocked or disgusted looks.<
