CHAPTER 5

FREYA POV

It was today, the day Ace and I were to become one. Bound to each other! The day of our nuptials.

The past two days were busy for the whole pack, between making efforts to find out how to get the rogue werewolves responsible for the attack and preparations for the wedding.

Things have been hectic. But today the pack decided to put the former under the rug in the mean time and concentrate on the latter.

"You look beautiful," I heard my mother say behind me. I looked at my white gown and I brushed my hand on the dress.

"Thank you, mother" I said smiling a little at her.

"Are you okay, dear? Aren't you excited?"

"I am. It's just that I fear that Isis hasn't accepted me yet," I say solemnly. Mother came closer and touched my cheek.

"My dear, do not worry about that. Someday, she'll come to terms with the changes. You are going to be the next Luna of this pack. All you have to do is to be smart and courageous, show her that you can take on the role and most of all, do not let her intimidate you," She said and I nodded.

"Are you ready?"

I turned to see Isabelle, my new personal maid.

"I am," I stated.

The ceremony took place at the pack garden. It was beautifully decorated. Many packs showed up, all with extra security in order to avoid more of the past incidents. I can't fault them for being afraid though.

Ace looked like everything I had imagined. Handsome and confident. He took my hand as we stepped towards the sage who was to wed us. After exchanging our vows, we both slit our thumbs and joined them together.

This was meant to strengthen our bond and make us feel closer to each other. We both shared our first kiss. The first of many more to come. It was beautiful.

"You're beautiful" he whispered into my ears. I couldn't help but blush and smile at that.

"Announcing Alpha Ace and the new Luna of the moon Park, Freya." The sage said. I could see Ralia and Isis from afar both looking a bit salty. But... the fury in Ralia's eyes looked worse. Ace looked at me and touched my waist, turning my attention away from her.

"Are you okay?" He asked tenderly.

"Yes," I said putting on a brave face. He gave me one more longing kiss and whispered to me.

"Don't think about anything but us today," he said and we both smiled at each other.

During the reception, Ace and I greeted everyone in attendance. Most of them were quite receptive while some thought an Omega being the pack Luna was unseemly. I wondered what else they would say if they knew that I also could not shift as well.

I was lucky Ace was beside me. Every single subtle attack I was given came with a counter-attack. Soon Ace had to go talk with some of pack leaders personally and then I was left alone for a while. I saw Ralia at the far end of the gardens. I decided I needed to talk to her, to make things less awkward between us. I walked towards her and as she saw me approaching, her face took on a frown.

"Hello Ralia. I know I'm probably the last person you want to see right now," I said.

"That would be Ace, but you're a close second," she said coming closer to me. "You're probably happy now, aren't you? You've gotten everything you've ever wanted," she said, voice dripping with venom.

"I didn't want to get it at the expense of another and I certainly did not want to hurt anyone. It's not my fault that the moon goddess chose me," I retorted.

"Enjoy it, Freya. Enjoy your reign as Luna. Just know Isis will never accept you, not even half of the pack wants you. And you know why?" She say, her eyes darkening.

"Because you'll always be weak and pathetic," she spat.

"Be careful with your words Ralia. Remember that I am the Luna of this pack now and you will give me the respect that is due. Watch your tounge while talking to me," I said with confidence. I am not going to let anyone walk all over me anymore and especially not Ralia.

She smiled at me, about to walk away before stopping and turning to say something.

"You know, it's pitiful you're going to be starting your marriage on lies," she said. This caught my attention. What did she mean?

"What are you talking about?" I said.

"Ask your husband why his brother Kye was truly exiled. You'll thank me later." She said and walked away smirking.

I came back to the party and looked at Ace. He smiled at me but I couldn't return it because my mind was swirling with so many questions. What If Ralia was just playing tricks on me? I didn't want to think about it now.

Today is the day I've finally gotten married to the love of my life and I was going to savour it. Walking towards my husband I smiled at him and he took my hand as we celebrated our union. In that moment I forgot about everything Ralia had just said.

THIRD PERSON POV

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE BOUNDARY OF THE HUMANS AND WEREWOLVES.

"Are the weapons ready?" A voice spoke.

"All ready and covered with wolfsbane and silver. They'll never know what hit them," another voice spoke.

"And the protections? The first voice spoke.

"All ready, the weapons won't affect our men," the other voice spoke.

"Good. We attack in three days, during the full Moon hunt. My brother will never know what hit him," the first voice spoke and suddenly, he turned. A man with a deep gash on his face is shown, eyes red with danger and smile laced with evil.

"Let the real party begin," Kye said. His eyes red with anger.

"They'll all pay," he growled
