CHAPTER 6

FREYA POV

"Ask your husband why his brother Kye was truly exciled"

    I sat at the bedside mirror, Isabelle combing my hair while I thought about what Ralia told me tonight. What did she mean? Why would she tell me that? What do I need to know? Was his excile connected to me somehow? All these questions kept swirling in my head.

"Mistress?" I heard Isabelle call out to me. I instantly came out of my trance and looked up at her.

"Are you OK? Your mind seems to be lost. I was just worried. I know its not my place to ask." She said bowing her head in a shy manner.

"Isabelle, you can call me Freya, no need for formalities and thank you for asking. I'm okay though so you don't have to worry about me." I said smiling at her and touching her hand. Isabelle helps me to wear my silk robe. It was quite short and transparent. I blushed when I looked at it.

"Your mother picked it out, she said she wanted you to look alluring for tonight." Isabelle said. A cheeky smile on her face. I knew what she meant. I was to consumate my marriage tonight. It was a scary thought and I didn't gain much knowledge about it.

"Isabelle?" I asked and she looked at me paying rapt attention.

"You're married right?" I asked 

"Yes, with two children." She said with pride in her eyes. I struggled to ask my next question but I needed to know more. Mother just told me that the consummation night would make our bond and love stronger and nothing else. There must be more to it. 

"What is involved during the consummation night?" I asked peering at her. She seemed rather surprised by my question. But she sat down and took my hand in hers.

"Freya." I could see she was still struggling to call me by my personal name.

"The first time you lay with your husband is usually the most beautiful for couples who adore each other. It may be painful at first, it's rare for it to be. But after it feels like fireworks exploding. It truly is a wonderful thing for people in love." She says, her eyes lighting up. I could tell that she was happy with her husband. I wanted to ask another question but Ace walked in, his eyes looking at me like a predator about to catch his prey. 

"I'm I interrupting?" He asks his eyes shining with amusement. Why was he looking amused? Did he hear what we were discussing?

"Of course not, I'll leave you two now." Isabelle bows her head and leaves the room. It was just Ace and I now. Suddenly the room became hotter and my breathing became hard. I was now standing on the other side of the room, Ace looked at me his eyes going darker.

"You look beautiful. Better than my wildest imagination Freya. You don't know the effect you have on me." He whispers under his breath.

"Come closer" his voice sounded urgent and desperate. I walked closer to him. Before I knew it I was in front of him, looking into his silver eyes with a dark edge in it. Ace strokes my hair with his hands, his fingers tracing my neck, my arms. Suddenly he turns me around, my back facing his chest. His wraps his hand gently around my neck and pushes my head backwards to look at me. His fingers traced my lips. My heart was still pounding in my chest. 

"You have no idea how much I'm controlling myself, you have no idea what I want to do to you right now. I'm trying to be gentle Freya but you're making it really hard." He says. He brings his face closer to my neck inhaling my scent. Suddenly Ace kisses me. It wasn't as gentle as the first time. This kiss was more hungry, more desperate. 

He turns me around and carries me up, wrapping my legs around his waist and placing me on the bed. He kisses me again this time more gentle than the last. Ace traces his lips down my neck kissing It gently, taking his time like he wanted to memorise this exact moment. He looks up at me seeing my innocent eyes peering up at him.

"Do you know anything about consummations?" He asks.

"Mother was really vague about it." I said

"I overheard your conversation with Isabelle." He said the same amusement in his eyes. I looked down, my cheeks shining a bright red. He takes his finger and bringing my face up to look at him.

"It's alright Freya. I'm your husband now. You don't have to feel embarrassed. Let me show you what it's all about." He says, 

His eyes turned a bright red when he looks back up at me. His fingers go to the strings of my gown, untying it, his eyes still trained on my face. Ace took the robe off, exposing my bare body to his eyes. I felt self conscious. I haven't had my body exposed that way before. I wanted to cover myself but he held my hands.

"Don't" he ordered.

"I've never seen anything more beautiful in my entire life. More exquisite. Ace brings his lips back to mine before tracing his lips down my chest, my stomach, down to my thighs. I couldn't help the sound the escaped my mouth. It sounded foreign like it wasn't from me. I've never felt so good before.

"Ace" I silently moaned his name. Ace brings his face back up. He takes his clothes off. My eyes grew at seeing him. He could see the fear in it. 

"Do you trust me Freya?" He asks. 

"Yes" I whisper. Ace leans down to kiss me again. Suddenly I feel a little pain after. I looked down to see that we were joined together. This was what Isabelle was referring to.

"Shh" Ace whispered. 

"It will stop hurting after a while." He said his hands stroking my cheeks lovingly. He kisses me and after a while he starts moving against me my hips joining in sync. It stopped hurting. Instead it felt amazing. Ace looked at me as my face transformed into one of ecstacy.

"Ace" I said my eyes locked on his, as he gave me feelings that I've never had before.

"Freya" he whispered my name, pleasure written all over his face. He started moving faster against me.

"You feel amazing Freya, so beautiful, you're so beautiful" he says. His eyes shining with love. 

"Ace, don't stop" I moaned. I never wanted this feeling to end. It felt like fireworks just like Isabelle said it would. 

"I love you Freya, so much" he says picking up his pace.

"I love you too" I whispered still drowning in ecstacy.

"I feel something" I say

"Let go for me Freya" It felt like bright stars, beautiful bright starts. After a while Ace grunts and lays on top of me. Our breathing heavy. Ace looks as me, we both smile and he kisses me again.

"I love you" I whisper

"I love you too" he says. Our lips joining once more.

LATER THAT NIGHT

Ace and I both hold each other. He strokes my back as I look up at him, tracing my fingers down his chest.

"That was amazing, Mother didn't tell me it would feel that way" I whispered and he laughed.

"Why are you laughing" I said hitting his chest playfully.

"You can't blame me, that was funny" he said. I couldn't help but join him.

"I wouldn't mind going again" he said eyes shining in amusement.

"Do you always say what comes to your mind" I say blushing. 

"Only when I'm around you" he says flipping us over so I'm under him again. He kisses me once again, and again he takes me to a place of fireworks.

THE NEXT MORNING

I wake up smiling and turning around to hold Ace, I was met with empty sheets instead. I sat up wrapping the bedsheets around me, where could he have gone? Isabelle enters the room after a while.

"Freya, you're awake. I hope I didn't wake you?" She asks

"No, you didn't. Have you seen my husband anywhere?" I ask

"The Alpha had to go and attend to some matters, but he told me to inform you that he'll be back as soon as he can" she said with a smile on her face.

"Thank you Isabelle" I smiled laying down on the bed with a sheepish smile on my face.

"Oh Isabelle, you were right. It was exactly how you said it would be." Isabelle giggled a bit and sat next to me.

"I expected nothing less Freya." She said. She stands up heading to my wardrobe.

"My dear, I don't want to interrupt your happy moment but it's time to get ready. Your mother-in-law will be expecting you to have breakfast with her. She directly requested it." Isabelle said. Now I was truly terrified. It was no secret to me that Isis still does not like me that much but this is my chance to impress her. I have to.

"Okay" I stood up from the bed and went into the bathroom. After my bath, Isabelle dressed me. I wasn't yet used to the fancy clothing compared to the ones I used to wear but it only takes some adjusting and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Isabelle styles my hair and soon enough we both leave the chambers to see Isis.

AT THE DINNING ROOM

   I walked into the room and instead of seeing only Isis. It was both her and Ralia and I couldn't help but remember the statement she made last night. 

"Come sit" Isis practically orders. I walk into the dinning room and take my place.

"You may leave now maid" she said to Isabelle.

"I want her to stay, if you don't mind mother." I replied making sure to be respectful. I don't need her hating me more.

"Of course, you're the new Luna. She can stay if you permit." She smiles but her eyes still had a distasteful look.

"Thank you mother" I say.

"You didn't come here just to have breakfast with me. I have something important to discuss with you" she states. I sit up straight showing her that she has my attention.

"As you know Ralia was supposed to be Ace's mate. But due to recent developments it turned out to be you." She says looking at me with a tinge of displeasure.

"Ralia was trained for this life since the day she was declared Ace's mate. You on the other hand were not. The responsibilities of a Luna is a very difficult task. You're basically the mother of the pack. You have to learn how to be assertive, confident, firm and kind at the same time. 

You have to learn the ways of the council and especially how to sway them and get them on your good side. It's no secret that half the council don't approve of you yet. You have a lot of work ahead of you yet Freya" she said. 

"I understand mother" I said 

"This is why, I have asked Ralia to help train you. She knows everything already so you'll be under her tutelage." I look at Ralia, she seemed unusually composed, like this didn't make her feel uncomfortable at all. 

"Yes mother" I said. 

"Well, let's have breakfast and you two can begin." After breakfast Ralia and I went to the Courtyard, she sat on the garden chair and I sat on the one opposite hers. She crossed her legs and looked at me.

"So today, we're starting with composure and confidence" she stated blankly.

"We're going to be studying the things you have to learn when facing the council. You may be the Luna now but you still have to gain their trust. We will be studying not only for the council but also for the people as well. You have a long way to go Freya so we need to get you prepared."

"Is this a bit weird for you?" I said

"It's not about it being weird. I was given a responsibility and I plan to see it through. Just because circumstances weren't in my favour does not mean I won't do what I'm supposed to" she states.

"You told me something yesterday, what did you mean by that Ralia?"

"Forget what I said, I was in my feelings and I blurted a lot of unreasonable things" she states.

"It didn't sound that way to me." I was about to continue when she stopped me.

"Freya, forget it." She declared 

"Iam your Luna and you will answer me" I spat back. She leans back smiling.

"Well Luna, I have nothing to tell you. What I said was merely out of wounded emotions and meant nothing at all. Now shall we continue our lesson or do I have to bow to your feet before we do" she says her voice dripping with venom.

"I'm sorry, that was not nice of me. I may be ranked higher but I can't speak to you in any manner that I please. I apologise" I say 

"You just had your first lesson." She says and I look at her wide eyed.

"As a Luna it's true that you should be commanding and assertive, make sure you defend yourself when you're being disrespected but do not force something out of someone or else they've commited a crime otherwise that. It will be seen as a trample on their rights.

"I understand, I didn't mean to do that back then. I just feel like there is something you're not telling me. I feel like what you said wasn't just from wounded emotions. You meant it didn't you?" I said. Ralia looked a little uncertain, like there was something she wanted to say but she was struggling to pass it across. 

"Freya, I may know something but the answer you seek should not come from me. I hope you understand Luna". I simply nodded.

"So, let's continue" she stated but my mind was still swirling with unanswered question.

ACE POV

   Whenever I remembered last night a smile would find it's way to my face. Freya was finally mine and mine only. I couldn't be happier with the circumstances. I couldn't wait to get back to her as soon as this meeting was over. To claim her all over again. I was about to attend a meeting with the Council and the other pack leaders regarding the pack attacks. There had been another attack on one of the other packs. I had to stop thinking about Freya for the mean time, this was a more important situation as of now.

"I'm sorry I'm late, I had to fix something before coming, I hope I'm forgiven" I say assertively.

"It's no problem Ace. We needed you here before we could start though. It's good that even though you rank higher than each of us. You still have the sense to apologise." Alpha Lyon said.

"Shall we proceed" I said taking a seat.

"Alpha Leo has been murderd and the sun pack has been destroyed" I sat up shock in my eyes.

"How is this possible, we fortified security, we gave some of our pack warriors to protect them." I said 

"We do not know as well. According to one of the warrior survivors it was as if they knew all their moves. All the training they did they had was nothing compared to theirs."

"We believe that the rogues are trying to destroy both the sun and moon court. They know that If you both are destroyed it will be easier to destroy the other packs.

"But why not just destroy the moon pack directly. We rank the highest. They must be trying to send a message. They want us to know that if they can destroy the sun pack. They can come for us as well. But that won't happen, not on my watch. How did they know our defences so well. Do we have a traitor amongst us" I say

"We have more bad news." The council and the pack leaders started to look a bit anxious and uneasy.

"What is it?" I asked.

"One of the Pack warriors stated that the orchestrator of this whole scheme was there himself and he was the one who killed Alpha Leo so mercilessly."

"Who was it?" I asked.

"Your brother, Kye." That would explain how they knew all our defences. I knew Kye would have retaliated one day or another.

"We have to stop him and fast".
