chapter 34

Catherine pov.

I walk around the castle, searching for my son. My head spins with the stress of finding him all night. The sight of the dimly lit corridors and the smell of the musty air fills my senses. The sound of my footsteps echoes off the walls as I search every corner.

With only eight hours left before I return to the Shadow Moon Pack, I ask every servant, but their answers are not what I expected. I wonder what Lux will do when he finds out that his son is missing.

I make my way to Lux's room, wondering what could have caused him to be in such a state. I wait until the doctor leaves and quickly rush to meet him. "Doctor!" I yell, stopping him in his tracks. "Please, what happened?"

He looks at me with confusion, and I ask again, "What happened, doctor?" He turns to me, pulls away his glasses, and stares straight at me. "You must be Lora, Princess of the Shadow Moon Pack, right? Well, the Alpha is in critical condition, and I think he was poisoned."

I feel shocked at hearing th
