Chapter 23 Day Dreaming

Alpha Ares POV

I was desperately waiting for Beta to show up and give me today’s report. I stood by a large window in my office, looking outside at the vast greenery that lay in front of me. The trees were silent, which was a good thing but something in me was unsettling after what I had seen in the light. I needed answers to that. Damnit! Where was this Gennady?

After a while I got bored by looking, it seemed the outside world held nothing of interest for now. So I returned my gaze to the dungeon door where secrets waited for me.

I didn’t want to use my Alpha aura to summon Gennady, he could be in the middle of something. So with all options exhausted, I sat back down on my high chair, carved out of bones painted black, with etchings and markings of the ancient.

I started working on the day-to-day tasks of managing the pack. I studied different official documents signed a few, assigning a pack family to different houses. But my heart was not in it.
