Five

Glenn’s POV

Before my eyes, Mateo and Luciana was getting married. My dear father gave them his blessing without having a second thought how I would feel.

I locked myself in my bedroom chamber and restricted my maid to bring any news about them to me. It was unfair and painful.

There was no different between this life and the tribulation I have passed through. Inwardly, I vouched to make Mateo and Luciana pay for what they have caused me.

The humiliation of rejecting me in public and making me become a laughingstock in the entire pack, they won’t go scout free.

They were living freely, forgetting about the curse that was embedded in the tribulation.

No one asked how I was coping with it, they all pretended as though they never knew something like that existed.

I sat by the window, staring at the bright sky and the birds chirping and flying freely. To me, the sky wasn’t warming anymore, it was dark and unpleasant. I attempted to return back to bed when the gossip from some servants disrupted my decision.

“Beta Mateo and Luciana are really in love. Do you know that Beta Mateo bought Luciana a new house?” One of the servant questioned her colleagues.

“Right? Thinking about this, I believe now that Lady Glenn was really trying to hinder their relationship.” their words peirced into my heart, giving me no expectation of myself.

I wanted to act but suddenly, a sharp chill dawned on me and I started screaming in anguish.

My head was burning and my eyes turned crystal blue as I scratched my head in exasperation. I could hear the constant knocking from my door but I dared not to let the person in because I might kill the person.

It was early lunar madness and I lost control of my emotion when something like this happen. I could only hit my chamber and break some woods to let out my hostile feelings.

These actions have been reported to my father but he haven’t taken any precaution, should I say he doesn’t care about me anymore.

The following morning, I decided to get some air and stroll around the yard. Since Luciana was married to Mateo, I was allowed to go out because they felt I might create a mess during their wedding.

Immediately, some gamma guards approached me. At first, I thought they were on patrol but when they grabbed my arms, I was startled.

“What’s happening?” I struggled with them.

This scene made me to remember what happened to me in the past, the time whereby I was framed for seducing the Alpha and being killed. Was my tribulation replaying?

“What did I do?” I queried them, asking for an explanation but they didn’t listen to me as they dragged me to the elders hall.

As soon as I entered the hall, everyone started murmuring. Honestly, I wondered what was happening because I was also lost and confused.

I was pushed and forced to kneel down. My eyes wandered around the hall until it dropped on Luciana and Mateo.

“Father, what is going on?” My dreadful voice evaded in the hall, my father shook his head as one who was disappointed.

“You should be asking, what have you done.” He scorned at me.

“I don’t understand.” I raised an anxious brow.

“Why did you poison your sister? Have you gone astray suddenly?” My father asked me angrily and my jaw dropped in astonishment.

“Poison? When?” I was confused and clueless as I looked at everyone in the hall.

They were all lashing curses at me and shaking their heads in disbelief.

“That’s not true.” I retorted.

“Not true? When you found out that I’m pregnant, you poisoned me, didn’t you?” Luciana questioned me spitefully.

Since she got married, she started disregarding me and seeing me as a minor. I also knew she was trying to drive a wedge between my father and I but I never expected it to happen too soon.

“I didn’t even know you were pregnant.” I said sincerely and my father hit his hand on the edge of his seat.

“Absurd!” He shouted. “You have become too vile!” He yelled at my face. It was at that moment that I knew that Luciana was pregnant but had miscarriage. She could only hid her shame by putting the blame on me. Surprinsingly, my father believed her.

“Father, I’m scared to stay here. Glenn might cause harm to your grandchild or even kill me someday.” Luciana was filled with pretense, with her voice urging my father to take a quick decision.

I couldn’t help but sob profusely, I have lost it both in tribulation and real life.

Why does everyone cast me off without seeing my worth?

“That will never happen!” My father scrowled.

“Lady Glenn, I can’t afford to keep you in my pack before you do something disastrous!” My father began, I was consistently shaking my head, fervently begging him not to say something away. Mateo didn’t even look at me. Since he rejected me, I haven't heard his voice or seen his face properly.

“You are hereby banished from this pack, Glenn!” My father announced seriously and I gasped in shock.

“Father!” I tried to stop him but it was too late, his eyes were filled with determinism and I was left to choice one option.

Leaving the pack shamefully.
