The clouds were growing thicker with each passing seconds, so was the worry in my heart; Lillian was yet to be back.

“Don't you think we should go look for her?” I turned to ask Marcus, who was standing above my shoulder.

“I am not convinced that would be a good idea, she wouldn't like that as well. She's a strong lady, I'm confident she would be back soon. Let's just give it a little time.” He gave me a soft reassuring squeeze on my shoulder.

“And if she doesn't come back? Are we just going to sit here and do nothing?”

He took my hands in his and looked at me straight in the eyes.

“I'm sure she's fine. Maybe she had some important business to do and she had to attend to it. She'll be here soon, I know that.”

“I hope so.” I grumbled and went into the room.
