I dragged Beth back to the house, but something was strange about her, I couldn't pick her scent.

“You let her go again, and you lose your lives.” I said to the guards as I dumped her in front of them.

They nodded and took her to the room.

I proceeded to my room, my head almost exploding with questions.

“How on earth does she not have a scent anymore?”

“Why would Alex be so careless to let her roam about? I guess he doesn't need her anymore.”

I sat on the couch, my hand curled under my jaw as I had plenty of questions running through my mind. The door creaked open, and my eyes fell on it – it was Elena.

She walked further into the room and sat beside me.

“Is anything wrong? You don't look quite well.” She said with her voice clouded with worry as she turned to me.

I turned to her, “Then you should know that all is not well.” I snapped, my eyes widened a bit.

“You know, you don't have to be rude to me. I was only trying to care.”
