Chapter 39

Estelle POV

I looked at Aurelian, and he has been in his thoughts for two days now. He doesn’t say much; he’s always lost in thoughts, and I know it’s because of his brother. I tried to talk to him, but he didn’t want to talk about it, and for two days, the tension has been high. I can’t take it anymore.

“Aurelian,” I called, entering the room. He looked up from the bed.

“Huh?” he asked.

“We have to talk,” I said. He gave me attention, sitting up.

“What happened?” he asked, clueless. I sighed, putting my hand on my waist.

“We have a situation at hand, Aurelian; you can’t just be here thinking and shutting everyone out,” I said. He gave me a long look.

“I was mourning,” he said. I looked at him, confused.

“Who died?” I asked.

“My brother,” he said, breathing out. I looked at him, speechless.
