~Muriel~
I was standing in front of the mirror with my mind beclouded with lots of jumbled thoughts. I took a deep breath with my eyes closed. A hand came on my shoulder, and I gasped, widening my eyes open. I saw the reflection of Russell in the mirror. I reeled instantly to face him.“Why are you so shocked to see me?” he asked.“No… no, I wasn’t shocked, you startled me,” I gasped out, moving away from him. He grabbed my wrist, making me stare at him.“You don’t look comfortable with me anymore, Muriel. Did I do anything wrong?” he spoke in a soft tone that broke my heart into millions of pieces. Tears welled up in my eyes. “Talk to me, what’s wrong? What did your cousin say to you?”“Come on, Russell, don’t bring my cousin into this,” I blinked back the tears, taking a few steps away from him. “Not just him, Russell, everyone that knows about the demons never says good about them. Are you manipulating me to love you, Russell? How coulGrace ran down to her father’s room. She was the Beta’s last child and Autumn was the Beta’s second child, the one that took after her father. While the last child was a fraidy-cat, the first child was a hothead, she listened to no one and did whatever she pleased. She got married to her mate and moved away from Bluemoon pack. Autumn was trained by the Gamma to be a warrior when she turned 10 years old. When she turned 18, she never cared to find her mate, she always hated the thought of finding her mate and getting married, which would automatically stop her from fighting. “What’s the problem, Grace?” Beta Neil, who was behind his desk, holding a document asked, standing up. Grace sprinted to him, hiding behind him. “What is it, who’s after you?”“Fa… Father, it’s Autumn,” she fearfully pointed to the door.“What about her? Did she get into trouble again?” Beta Neil asked, holding Grace from his back to his front.“No, Father, she… she saw a…”“She saw a what?”“She saw a demon!” Gr
~Autumn~I reached my room, halting at the door when I saw my father relaxed on a couch, waiting for me.“Come on, my child, we need to talk,” he told me, sitting up. I moved closer and sat with him.“What do you want us to talk about, Father?” I asked.“You haven’t told me about your mate, dear? Who is he?” he inquired.“Don’t mind him, Father, he is just a maniac. I was going to reject him when I discovered I didn’t know his name. He was mocking me, Father, can you imagine?” I lamented.“Are you drunk, Autumn?” his voice changed into a pissed-off tone. “How can you say you were going to reject your mate without knowing who he is? His he that bad?”“I can’t stand him, Father, he is a psychopath. How can he be my mate and seize my dagger? Who does that?”“What did you do before he seized your dagger?” Father queried. I pouted my lips and rolled my eyes. “You attacked him, didn’t you? Your hotheadedness will one
(Back to Muriel’s room)~Muriel~I froze on my spot, and chills of reality traveled down my spine. Russell had come to see me in Newmoon pack, and a powerful Epsilon lives there, he saw him, exposing my deep secret. “I wouldn’t have believed him, Muriel,” Lucian spoke out. “When I saw how uncomfortable you were on that day, I knew something was wrong. The Muriel I know doesn’t possess the courage to talk back at anyone. But when you went missing on your eighteenth birthday and returned, everything changed. Putting together all your actions, I had to believe Epsilon Cadman’s words. But it’s not your fault, I know how demons work, he must have been manipulating you, and I, Lucian Logan will set you free from that spell,” Lucian declared. I looked at Russell, the angry looks in his eyes weren’t quelled. His fists were clenched, and I could hear the sound of his fast heartbeat, drumming in my ears. I bet if he wasn’t unable to use his powers right now, Lucian
~Autumn~I decided to summon the courage to talk to my demon, human of a mate. I wonder exactly where he stays around the pack house. I trampled down the long hallway, hoping to see him by chance like I always do. Nervousness twisted my stomach. I was already imagining him laughing wickedly at me like he did the last time when I couldn’t reject him. My eyes peered every corner of the hallway for him. Before I would reach the porch, I bumped into him. I staggered aside against the wall and he walked past me like he didn’t notice me. I inhaled deeply to subdue the anger that was about being exposed to the surface.“Hey, wait!” I called out, running after him. He kept walking. I ran past him and blocked his way. “I want us to talk,” I said.“Get the hell off my way, I don’t want to ever see you, you hear me?!” he groaned to my face. His harsh tone vibrated against my skin, downpouring a pail of ice on me. I stood frozen, disbelief etched on my face. He pushed
~Muriel~I reached the dungeon. All the guards were down unconscious. I halted in surprise. I looked around the dungeon, it was as quiet as a graveyard. Behind all the barriers lay sleeping prisoners and along all sections lay sleeping guards. I wonder what had happened. I peered through the dungeon till I beheld a terrible sight that got me shrinking away. I covered my mouth to prevent a scream from escaping my lips. On the floor in the dungeon lay heavy silver chains that seemed to light the eerie darkness wrapping the dungeon. I moved closer to the barrier, hoping to see Russell. No one was there.“Russell?” I called out. My voice penetrated the darkness and it hit back to me. “Russell!” I screamed out.“Hey!” Lucian rushed in with three scouts. “Where is he?” he queried. I gnashed my teeth; turning to face him, I tugged at his shirt, pinning it to his throat.“What did you do to Russell, Lucian? If I get to know you harm him, I will kill you!”
~Lucian~I stomped to the Epsilon’s room. He was meditating as usual. I decided to sit and wait for him by taking a seat on a chair close to him. He ended the meditation and opened his eyes to me.“Welcome, Alpha. What brings you to my abode this time?” he queried, standing up from the yoga mat.“A demon…” I paused as his eyes swiveled abruptly to me. I could see disbelief etching on his face as he sat on a chair opposite me. “Yes, Epsilon, a demon trespassed our pack, defiling the rules of morality and entering into my mate’s room,” I explained.“What?!” I sensed terror in the voice of the Epsilon.“Yes, Epsilon. He came to see Muriel. I got him captured and he escaped. How can I destroy him? How can I ruin him completely?” I queried eagerly, vengeance laced in my voice. The Epsilon was mute for a moment.“Hmm!” he drawled the word. “It is a difficult, almost impossible thing to do,” he let out.“No…” I strained the wor
~Autumn~I headed to my room after practicing for a while. It has been a long we went to war, seems boring around Bluemoon Pack now. The last war we went to was many years ago. Reaching my room door, I saw Ian standing, patiently waiting for me. I scowled at him, moving close. “And what are you doing here?” I asked between gritted teeth.“Hey, you are back,” he smiled. Oh, gosh! The smile that irritates me so much. Seeing him smile seems he is mocking me.“What have you come to do this time?” I calmed my voice, opening my door.“I came to see you,” he said. I entered and he followed me up.“I didn’t ask you to come in,” I groaned, turning to face him.“And you as well didn’t slam the door at my face so, I assume you wanted me to come in,” he poured the reality to my face. I gritted my teeth, stamping my feet on the floor with a clenched fist.“Get out!” I snapped.“Whoa! Calm down. Are you always a hot
~Autumn~Before I got over the kiss stuff, my father entered my room. Seeing him, I jerked up. “Greetings, Father, “ I greeted sharply.“Greetings, dear. Grace told me she met your mate already. I came to find out why you haven’t brought him to me yet,” he stated.“Uh, that! I was going to…” I paused. Wait. Father doesn’t know Ian yet? But Ian told me he met him already. That lying human demon.“You were going to what?” Father’s question jolted me.“Uhm! I was going to bring him to you soon. You know, he is somehow busy for now but don’t worry, I will bring him once he is free,” I assured him.“Tell me why you haven’t apologized to him for being rude yet.”“But I just told you he is…”“Please, Autumn. You think I don’t know when you lie? You haven’t apologized, I know you. But one thing is clear, I want to meet your mate tomorrow and you two should be in a perfect relationship before you bring him to me. Is that
