I ate food brought by my step-brothers and I was still alive. Have they changed? Or was it just the effect of the mate bond on them?

I had to clear my mind off the thoughts and get ready for school. I went downstairs just to be sure Axel had not sent the servants back to their quarters. I knew how brutal he could be. I got to the living room and everywhere was clean. I checked other parts of the house, and not a single thing was out of place.

This whole special treatment was beginning to look real. A feeling of relief washed over me. At least I didn't have to do those annoying house chores.

I quietly walked back to my room. I got in the shower and for a short while, I was ready to leave for school. it felt so good leaving for school without body aches from doing so much work.

I stepped out into the living room and Brody was waiting by the door. He stood there like a monument, ogling me.

What the fuck is his problem?

I quirked my brow at him, wondering what was going on.
