ANGER PHASE

REFLECTION

LIAM'S POV

____°°_______

Knowing Rash would do the needful, I jog downstairs. I open to the refrigerator, took a cup, and poured myself a glass of water with ice in it.

It chills my chest. Maybe it will lessen the intensity of anger boiling in me right now.

She was supposed to stay in the room with Aerin. I didn't tell her about my encounter at the forest but she doesn't need to know. She doesn't need to know anything!

I have my reasons and the least she could do was just follow my instructions!

I ran my hand through my hair as I drink from my cup yet, again.

I mind-linked Diana to come to the last floor. The general kitchen for the entire pack. I do have my kitchen but I hardly made use of it ever since. . .

Diana trolls down the stairs in her white shirt and black pinafore outfit worn mainly by the royal servants.

The royal servants are Omegas who mainly take care of the needs of the pack royals- The Alpha, Beta, and Royal warriors.

'' Why weren't you where you were being instructed?" I utter impatiently making my voice thunder.

When she came face to face with my eyes, she lowered her gaze to her feet.

''You were assigned you, Diana, to ensure she was guarded at all times!''

''I apologize, my Alpha.''

Apology? Was that what I require from her?

''I do not require your apology! You were given a simple task and you couldn't fulfill it?''

"You no longer heed the instructions of your Alpha?" She quivered.

''The woman in there fell unconscious because her body was probably weak from what transpired two days ago! That wouldn't have happened if you had done your damn job!'' I said rather too harshly.

I do respect her but I hate slackness from anybody. She isn't my mother, neither is she a mother figure to me. As far as I am concerned, I am an orphan.

An orphan who doesn't require any pity from anyone whom my father had told to take care of me.

"It would be best if you know your place! Do not provoke me. Diana."

Just then, Rivers burst in. I stormed away, walking past him. The last thing I wanted was questions from him.

My wolf doesn't hesitate to act on impulse. I try my best in taming Olcan when fury ignites within him.

I took heavy brisk steps to the door, dashing straight to the woods.

I shifted into my wolf form. Olcan whose size was more massive and intimidating than any other pack member has black fur with golden eyes.

I am so proud of my wolf. He is my best friend. We have had a lot of conversations nobody knew of. He ran at an unmatched speed yet slow and steady away from the pack house.

I ran to stop at the river bank where the moon's naked crescent reflected in the waters and his anger subsided gradually at the sight of the beauty before it.

She stood above the sky, looking at him in adoration. The moon shines her light more than usual tonight. I lifted my eyes to sight the golden moon with bright light emitting from it.

We used to enjoy gawking at one of Mother Earth's accomplices. It used to be perfect. What changed?

I still feel this gloominess around me. The pack sees it. I have to be strong for the pack. I mustn't be weak.

Rumors spread drastically. I wouldn't be placed on the lips of other wolves' judgment.

Why have you left me?

I sat quietly on my hind leg until I howl repeatedly.

Reflecting on my actions, I rambled to an unknown person, staring at the surface of the water.

I shouldn't have lashed my anger at her. That wasn't right. Not for someone who has always been good to me.

The wind travels around my wolf in circles, taking a deep breath. I can feel my wolf being distant again.

When will I find peace?

The peace my heart lurks for two centuries ago?

It seems the wind feels my pain too. It crawls around my form, trying to wrap itself around me. Am I too large for the wind as well?

My ears perked high at a sound around. Wolves' ears are as sensitive as anything else. One of the things my father taught me as a pup was to use them well.

I sniff the air, smelling a rogue. My eyes dart to my left.

What would a rogue seek in the middle of the night, in my pack?

Rage overwhelmed me again. I hide my scent as I let my nose lead me to it.

RIVERS' POV

°°°°°°°°°°°°----

On my way to the pack house, I see some warriors running around still acknowledging my presence, bowing their heads as a sign of respect.

The pack was rather placid this evening.

The pups were playing one of the pack's favorite games, Tag. Who doesn't? I smile in my head as I watch them enjoying one another's company.

''What exactly is going on here?'' I questioned them displaying my teeth from afar.

'Beta Rivers!" I hear them squeal in excitement, running towards me when one of the pups shouted in his energetic voice.

"First person to touch Beta's leg is to get a hug from him."

The distance is quite far for a pup. I watch them closely as they ran closer to my position. One of the pups almost touched my leg. Then I sprinted away from them slowly. They ran after me with their little legs and after going around in circles twice with them. They gave up.

I paused, chuckling at them then I take a look at them panting heavily.

''Great evening exercise pups. You can catch me. . .'' I felt a sharp push on my leg from one of the pups. It was Tiger.

''Oh! You caught me already big guy!'' I laughed at his cleverness.

''I'd hug everybody now.''. They ran again with great energy to me, making me fall to the ground.

These pups are just too smart for their ages.

I entered the pack house after waving goodbye to the pups when their mothers came looking for them.

I suddenly sense the tension in the air. I got curious as I heard Liam's voice echoing from the kitchen area. I walk in to see him almost at the edge and right before him was Diana, the head servant.

He walked past me in rage. Anything can trigger his wolf to do terrible things. So, I stood still and watch him leave the pack house.

I saw Diana, almost in tears. I walked towards her and embrace her.

I don't know what must have transpired between them but it wasn't good.

I calmed her till she didn't snuffle anymore.

''What's going on Diana?''

''Don't worry about it Rivers. I am fine, now.''

''I insist you tell me what the problem is. Liam was at his surface.''

I tread up the circle like golden and white tiles. Letting my curiosity drive me about the girl Diana spoke to me about. The same girl she affirmed Dr. Rash mentioned to Liam.

I hold the door knot when it opened.

''Dr. Rash!''

''Beta Rivers!'' He acknowledged me offering me his hands.

''I have checked her. She'd be doing just fine now. Please ensure, she rests well for her to regain strength.''

''Thank you, Dr. Rash.''

''Please, let the Alpha be informed. I'd send you the necessary medications for her once she wakes up.''

''No, problem. Thank you.''

After seeing the doctor off to the doorstep. I was about to go in to see the girl when I heard a shout of fear.

''Alpha!''

I dashed down the stairs in fright. I saw him in blood. Uncertain if it was his or someone else's.

''What the hell? Liam!''

''Just get me the fucking first aid box Rivers!''

As I went in to do so. I searched for it but still couldn't find it.

Running back to him to get to the hospital. He wasn't looking so good. I saw Diana with one.

Treating his wounds already with a hiss of pain and a groan escaping his mouth now and then.

LIAM'S POV

_____°°_____

I hiss in pain at the scratch below my abdomen. Not until I lifted my jersey, sighting the deep cut that bastard caused me while in a fight with him.

The rogue didn't think he would get away with what he did, just like that, did he?

I ripped his head off out of anger. Ok can became untamed at the audacity of the trespassing rogue.

Olcan claimed his territory, charging at him until the bastard pushed me unto a sharp thorn in the woods which tore my flesh deep thinking it was a scratch.

I finally made it making a woman screech which ached my ears.
