I HAVE A MATE

Strange Girl's POV

_________°-°_______

His word replays in my head, over and over again. It keeps me dazed and mute.

All I did abreast of the man with the captivating voice was stare at five strange faces looking at me in confusion and need of explanation.

I can tell they are as perplexed as I am. My face is void of emotions to invite their doubts.

Even though I know I require millions of answers from all of them. I can't help but become paranoid. My thoughts linger on my unsafety.

Am I in a trance?

Is this real or a dream?

I slap my face hard which only attracts uninviting eyes on me. I must seem crazy. I kept mute, still feeling intimidated by everything before me.

I look down trying to ease myself of the pain I caused must and away from the eyes that shot daggers at me.

He speaks again.

Is this heaven? I asked myself.

"She is my mate, Elders." He mentions again.

"Is this heaven?" I blurted aloud, looking back and forth at the eyes on me.

"Uhmm! No, it isn't." He states as he let out a soft uncomfortable chuckle. His eyes dart toward their position again.

I raise my head to look at him. My eyes met his and I notice how well-built his face is, like that of an idol.

I take in his side profile. His bulgy evident Adam's apple moved as if in rhythm. His tiny lips look and should feel soft. His hands were firm on my shoulders as if being safeguarded.

He took an elegant step forward, away from me while I clasp my palms together. Looking around the large black and white painted room.

I wandered away from my previous spot trying to connect one or two.

I can feel my head in pain like it happened last time.

What happened last time?

I can't remember but something happened last time.

"You have a mate?" A man with blonde hair and blue eyes side-eyed me before looking away from him again.

"How is this possible?" I hear another say.

They mumbled words among one another, asking the man to clarify their curiosity.

A mate? Do I have a mate?

Who is he? I questioned myself.

Why am I here?

Who are these people?

Was I being kidnapped?

Is there a way out of this unprecedented mess?

I see them motion words with their lips. My eyes roam slightly at the room, trying to hold myself.

The moment one of the oldies tries to question him again, I feel a sharp pain in my head.

My body feels weak. I mentally try to whisper to my body but I feel light-headed.

The last thing was I felt myself falling before something holds me firm and tight.

Liam's POV

___°____°___

The door opens as a figure on my blue-black pattern printed T-shirt came to view. I look at my presumed prey.

My eyes roam from below, long fair legs being exposed to the pack's Five elders.

Suddenly, I felt irritated when my eyes caught Elder Elon gawking at her exposed flesh still in puzzlement.

Not until I hear Elder Barley's voice directing a question to my presumed prey.

"And you are?" He asked.

"Sorry about that, Elders. I didn't know she would barge in that way. Guess she must have been searching for me." I said almost immediately.

The room went silent again and I laughed to cover up the awkwardness overwhelming everyone.

Why was she here? Wasn't Diana with her? Did she leave the room unguarded? Rage filled me instantly.

"Ain't you are sweetheart?" I faked a smile believably as I draw her closer to me.

"Who is she?" Elder Musk demanded as he stared at me and over again at my presumed prey.

He had zero tolerance and he was the most intimidating Elder among the Five but not me.

To them, I am the most intimidating wolf in the pack and also their Alpha after all. I can do whatever I like but I still respect these people because my father did.

They are the pack's father figure simply because of their aged wolves. They clothe themselves in different shades of colors, signifying their wolves form.

"This here is my Fiancee, Aerin," I replied, before placing a kiss on her forehead. Then giving her another smile.

Wow! I act so well. Mentally, giving myself self-praise.

I don't know why I did that but It needs to be convincing enough for them. I don't want any further questions from them to her.

Neither can I cook up more lies. I may not remember them all.

I guided her next to me again, her face towards me and her back facing them. I watch her eyes on me with so many questions.

They all stare at me trying to process my words. Not until I hear her slap herself hard on the face.

Our eyes darted toward her at her action. I mentally begged the moon goddess for this woman not to do anything stupid.

"She is my mate, Elders." Trying to ease the awkwardness in everyone.

Right amid my announcement, I hear her ask with her innocent eyes.

"Is this heaven?" She hollered as her eyes widens for answers

I laughed slightly captivated by the question. Please just keep quiet till I get this sorted. This isn't the right time for jokes, okay?

"Uhm, no it isn't," I said again.

Feeling uncomfortable already. I took a step forward and away from my crazy prey to gain the attention of the Elders to my face even though I see Elder Elon with that promiscuous look again.

Ever since his wife died, he goes in with different ladies which has almost relegated him from his position.

His matter has been brought before the council several times and he has been given a stern warning.

If he takes another look at her one more time. I swear to the goddess, I'll rip his head off in an instant. Trying to tame my anger without acting on my nerve.

I moved slightly to come face to face with him, glaring at him with my unfazed face. Finally, I gain his attention to me.

"You have a mate?" Elder September asks in surprise.

"How is this possible?" Elder Mark questioned the Five.

They mumbled words here and there among themselves. Looking at the two figures before them. It seems like a strike a cord. I smirked mentally. Goodness!

"She is your mate?" Elder Elon asked.

I look at him with no emotions evident on my face.

"This has never happened before," Mark said racking his head for possible answers from the rest.

"Yes but not until centuries before my grandmother's days."

"Exactly! It has only occurred once or twice."

Elder September said again.

"I hear it does but it is only rare." Elder Musk added.

"This is disbelieving. He has a mate?" Elder Barley looked at the table before him like he was playing a chessboard, trying to protect the royals- The king and queen.

They went on and on until I hear a low groan from behind me. I twitch my head to the right, trying to confirm whether or not I heard wrong.

"We have to find answers to this." Elon proclaimed.

I hear it again, then my eyes went straight to her figure. She held her head in pain, looking unstable before she slumped.

Thankfully, My heightened wolf hearing came to the rescue as I caught her by her waist right before she hit the ground.

The Five Elders rushed to us, standing behind me as they try to glance at her unconscious body.

I mind-linked the pack doctor, Dr Rash to come to the pack house immediately!

I rush her out of the room to the room she stayed in two days ago when I brought her to the pack house.

I sent a guard to inform Diana that my friend fell unconscious.

She came in with a younger Maid, who carried along with her a bowl of water and a towel. Diana had in her hands, the First Aid box.

She looked at me with a worried look but I was still livid she has left Aerin unguarded when I ordered her to ensure she watched her closely.

Aerin's body must have been too weak to wander around the large pack house. I didn't bring her here to die in my pack.

He got to the pack house 10 minutes later. I walked back and forth in the room when Dr. Rash's bald head popped out of the door, showing his rather old lenses for the second time again in the pack house.

"Please, Rash. Attend to her now, she fell unconscious."

"Yes, Alpha" He nodded as he headed towards the bed I placed her body.

I went out of the room in anger, jamming the door behind me.
