Chapter twenty-three

I have been bugging Mace since he told me we were going on a date to tell me where we were going, but I got nothing. It was our first date here in New York, and I just couldn't hold in the excitement. He was already dressed up and was pressing his phone when I came down; he was just putting on a pair of trousers and a top. He looked dashing, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of him. He turned to me immediately when he heard the clicking sound of the camera. He took a good look at my clothes and nodded.

"That looks comfortable and warm," he said.

I was wearing jeans, a top, a cardigan, and a jacket with my signature boots.

I poked him "Are you not going to tell me where we are going".

He nodded and stole a kiss. I slapped his arm and turned my back on him, sulking, and he began to laugh.

"Did you tell Stella what I said?"

Stella was our chef, and he asked me to tell her not to bother making any more food for us today. I asked if we were spending the night outside, but Mace didn't
