Leo's POV I was listening to her talk to her brother about what I did. I know I was not supposed to be listening to their conversation, but I just couldn't help myself but listen. I know I sound stupid, but I don't know. I just feel jealous knowing that she hates me right now. I feel jealous knowing that she wants to talk to other people and not me, even if the person is her family. The moment she almost agreed to go with her brother, I felt so scared. I guess her brother would also be mad at me since he was saying Aiva shouldn't go and win the competition. All this happened because of my stupidity. I shouldn't have dragged about her when I was mad at everyone in the pack. I should have just shut up and let things go the way they are. Now I don't even know what to do about myself. "Alpha..." Someone tapped my shoulder, and I immediately pushed the person away so they wouldn't find out I was listening to them. It was Reed, my beta. "Is there something you are looking at there, alph
Aiva's POVMy brother and I did hear Leo backing away from listening to our conversation. Actually, his scent was so strong earlier that I just didn't want to tell my brother I don't know if he knew or not. “You mean you're going to continue the competition? I mean you don't have to do this because you are being pressured,” he tried to discourage me immediately. I almost laughed but then again I did not laugh because it's not funny to me. I know he feels sorry and he made a mistake while trying to protect him. I was surprised to see my brother defending him earlier. FLASHBACK “You know in all my years of being a leader, I have never seen one as soft as your so-called boyfriend. He may be the perfect leader everyone fears but I think he's just soft and all that is just an act,” Jasper stated. I scoffed, “What makes you think he's like that, have you seen him at all? Everyone fears him and that's why his expectation of me being a Luna is so high.”“I think he's too in l
Aiva's POV For the next few days, I got as much training as I could from Leo and my brother. I avoided everyone at the academy and let them make fun of me. I even watched some people bet on how fast I was going to lose in front of me, but I just ignored them all. I continued to train hard, and thankfully, I got some time off from work, so I was able to concentrate on my training. The first few rounds are coming soon, and they will soon put the list of the people matching together on the bulletin board. I was sorting out my locker at the academy when someone slammed it in front of me. That person would be none other than the drama queen Cassie. “What's this about Cassie, are you thinking of disrespecting me again?” I asked, confident she was going to stop if I threatened her with her Alpha. She scoffed, her face already burning red. I know she's too mad she can't do anything to me. “I didn't come here to disrespect you. I was trying to call you earlier, but you didn't hear me.
Aiva's POV “Aiva! What on earth do you think you are doing? Do you think you will be able to fight me if I get mad at you right now? Stop trying to humiliate yourself more and wait for your day.” Cassie said, trying to get me off her. Why do I feel like Cassie is too scared to fight with me right now? Is this because of Leo or is she just scared of me? I know how to be good at fighting but what is she so scared of probably because I am being unpredictable right now. “I think I can take you on, we should just stop talking, and let's get on with beating ourselves up if you're ready for it,” I stated. She moved back again and I moved towards her while the students continued to say all sorts of things against me. “You are crazy, you're going completely crazy. I know you are trying to trick me so that you can lie to Leo later that I hurt you but I'm not going to fall for it!” She yelled at me. I scoffed, “Are you sure you're not just doing this because you're scared of me this is
Aiva's POV I felt my hands trembling the moment I heard his voice, my entire body went too cold that I almost shivered. This is not true right? I must be hearing things. There's no way the kidnapper is still hovering around me and now he has my number. "W-who the hell are you?" I managed to ask, trying to stop my voice from cracking. I heard a burst of laughter instead of a reply. "What's the matter? Are you suddenly scared of me, sweetie?" "I asked who the fuck you are! I'm going to hang up if you don't state why you're calling me!" I started to get confident, trying to find a way to get myself out of this as this is the only thing I can do. He sighed, "You're not sounding very nice you know. I missed you a lot and decided to call you. You know who I am, why do you keep pretending you don't?" "Have you thought that it's maybe because I don't know who the fuck you are? You're not important enough for me to know." I responded savagely. He laughed again, "See? This is why I l
Aiva's POV Everyone ran out as soon as the classes were over. They all seemed excited and curious because the list for the combat competition is out and they get to see who the person paired with me is. That must be thrilling for them to see. I packed my books and made my way to the locker amidst all the running around and shouting. It's not in my interest to start explaining myself to anyone. I put my books in my locker and shut it. Then I made my way outside to check the bulletin board. I heard a lot of murmuring as I passed by. When I got there, a lot of people were there. "She's here!" Someone announced and they all dispersed to make way for me. I made my way to the board to see who I was paired with in the first round and I almost laughed when I saw it. I didn't flinch at all because I already saw this coming. They just want to get rid of me at all costs. I didn't think some of the professors here will be in on this. They can't wait to see me out this badly? I didn't know
Aiva's POV The competition is today. I didn't see Leo all night and I still haven't seen him today. I know I went too far with what I said but I didn't mean it that way. I'm just frustrated that he wants me to take a break when I should be training hard. Jasper came to pick me up himself. I entered his car looking gloomy and he noticed it."What's wrong Jillian? Did something happen to you? You don't look good." He still calls me by my birth name. I sighed, "I said some things to Leo yesterday and I didn't mean it. Now, he's mad at me and won't even talk to me."He smiled, "I know he's mad at you but he can't see you at this time. He's expected to stay away from you.""What do you mean?" I asked, getting confused. "You know he's the chief judge of the competition right?" I nodded, "I know that already but what has that got to do with anything?" "He can't be seen talking to you before your match. It's going to make it seem like he's cheating since he's not your official teacher."
Leo's POVI couldn't take my eyes off Aiva even though I have to keep acting like I don't know her. It's finally the day everything will stop. I got her into this mess and the least I can do is to let her concentrate. I missed her a lot these past few days and I just wanted to talk to her. I didn't think she would get mad like that. I missed touching her and it drove me crazy. She took the training way too seriously and didn't bother to take care of herself. She also doesn't pay much attention to me and we hardly talk. I just wanted to spend time with her yesterday even if it means we won't be seeing much later. I felt angry and guilty when she said those words to me so I just stayed away from her. I didn't pick her up her calls or reply her text. I just made sure to send people to check on her. I got her into this mess, I should be considerate. "Alpha, Luna's brother is here." Reed whispered to me before the announcer announced that Jasper came. I looked towards his direction and
