one step forward

People walked by without a care in the world. As always I called attention and people stared but their stares lasted merely seconds before they waltz past me. A hefty man was approaching, I stared at him trying to send him a silent plea, he stared back at me but then he smiled and winked flirtingly at me. Dread filled me.

“Here." The man said rounding up a corner.

I stood my ground and he pressed the knife harder, it cut through my dress and stung my skin, slowly tearing it open. An alarming pain ran up to my sides and I took a peek beside my belly to see the red liquid staining my dress.

I walked with the man and he softened his grip on the knife, I started breathing heavily as fear clogged my throat. How bad is the wound, would I bleed and die, would it get infected?

He was taking me to a building, it was a two storey and unkept. It's roof was flapping in the wind, the windows were stained and cracked.

He pushed me past a malfunctioning door and I choked on the stale poluted air.
